‘KUWTK’: Scott Disick Reveals Sofia Richie Made Him Choose Between Her and Kourtney Kardashian Ahead of Their Split
Keeping Up With the Kardashians is back for its 20th — and final — season, and the family drama is already at an all-time high.
During the season premiere, Scott Disick opens up to the Kardashian family about his split from then-girlfriend Sofia Richie. Though him not making her a priority was partly why they decided to break up, Disick claims that an “ultimatum” Richie gave him about Kourtney Kardashian, his ex and mother of his three children, ultimately led them to call it quits for good.
Scott Disick’s priorities in life made Sofia Richie feel ‘insecure’ about their relationship
On the season 20 premiere of KUWTK, Disick got candid about his split from Richie, whom he dated for nearly three years before ending their relationship in May 2020.
Disick explained that he and Richie decided to take a break because she felt like she wasn’t a priority in his life.
“She came to me and explained all the things that made her feel insecure in our relationship and why it was so difficult for her to be in it,” Disick shared with Khloé Kardashian. “And I feel like she likes being the center of attention…And she goes, ‘In your life, I feel like I’m the last person that gets attention.'”
Disick continued, “She was super mature about it and said like, ‘I just want to be there for you but, how can we figure things out where I feel comfortable?'”
Sofia Richie gave Scott Disick an ‘ultimatum’ about Kourtney Kardashian before their split
Not long after Richie expressed what she needed out of their relationship, she and Disick decided to reunite.
Eventually, the two were spotted spending the Fourth of July weekend together. At the time, the couple agreed to “take things slow” and “spend some time together,” which left Disick feeling confident in their relationship.
However, the Flip It Like Disick star struggled to make the model a priority, which caused their reunion to be short-lived.
“I thought I would give it a try and make her more of a priority, but then even when doing that, I feel like she just started wanting to push Kourtney [Kardashian] out,” he told Kim and Khloé Kardashian during the episode. “And I said like, that’s the most important thing to me is my kids and that’s my family, and the only family I have, including you guys along with it.”
Disick claimed that Richie didn’t want to share him “as a boyfriend with Kourtney” and asked him to choose between them ahead of their split.
“She literally said with an ultimatum: ‘You have to choose me or Kourtney,'” the father of three explained. “I was like, ‘But Kourtney is Kourtney and my kids — it’s a unit.’ I was like, ‘How could you even want that for me?'”

As fans well know, the Talentless founder and the model called it quits for good in August 2020.
In a confessional, Disick revealed that the ultimatum Richie gave him about Kardashian made it “impossible” for him to carry on in their relationship, sharing that he could never cut ties with the Poosh founder or their three kids.
“I’m never going to give up my relationship with Kourtney and the co-parenting we have, nothing in a million years, will be worth what we have,” he said. “And I truthfully believe if the right person were to even come along into Kourtney’s life, or my life, us having children and having this amazing relationship would only be a plus to the outsider.”
Kardashian West chimed in that Disick, Kourt, and their kids are “a package deal,” adding that it’s sometimes best “to cut the cord.”
Disick agreed before concluding, “Yeah, like, I need to be with somebody that I trust with all my heart. I trust Kourtney with my life. And like, if you can’t trust somebody, you can’t really have anything.”
