Sean “Diddy” Combs threw parties that had celebrities clamoring to get on the invite list. Major stars attended these events, which have now come under scrutiny following allegations of sexual abuse. While Diddy rarely went into detail about his parties, he did discuss them publicly. During one interview, he admitted that people might be intimidated by the goings on at his events. He saw this as a good thing.

Even before the heightened scrutiny on Diddy’s parties, he predicted that they would become a problem for him

“They won’t even give me a permit for the parties no more,” he said, per Vibe Magazine. “They don’t want me to throw the parties no more, but we ain’t gonna stop. We gonna keep on having fun bringing people together from all walks of life…You’re gonna hear about my parties… They’re gonna be shutting them down. They’re gonna probably be arresting me, doing all types of crazy things just ’cause we wanna have a good time.”

He acknowledged that the events might make some people uncomfortable. This didn’t bother him, though. If anything, it made him think he knew how to put on a good event.

“Whenever you bring up a different element into people’s environment, things that broaden people’s horizons, people get intimidated,” he said. “It’s a lot of people out there that feel intimidated by it … It’s cool. It doesn’t make me feel any way special. It doesn’t make me feel like a bigger person. It just makes me feel like I know how to throw a party.”

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs made announcements when his parties were going to take a turn

While Diddy admitted his parties might not be for everyone, children attended. At a certain point in the night, however, he made an announcement letting parents know that it was time to pack up their kids and leave.

“The kids have an hour left. Get extra comfortable, kids, because after that y’all got to go. It’s a wrap for y’all,” he announced to the party (via Vulture). “Because this thing turns into something that when y’all get older, y’all are going to want to come to.”

A Bad Boy employee admitted she didn’t feel safe at his events

LaJoyce Brookshire worked as the publicity director for Bad Boy Records, so she attended a number of Diddy’s functions. She said she was always on “high alert” while she was there.
