After video footage surfaced of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs attacking his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, he posted an apology video on social media. The footage corroborated Ventura’s lawsuit against Combs. He initially denied the allegations made in the lawsuit. He made an apology in response to the footage. Combs’ ex-girlfriend, Kat Pasion, didn’t believe his apology when she saw it.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ ex knew his apology video was not genuine

After the footage of Combs attacking Ventura in a hotel surfaced, he posted an apology video. In it, he claimed that the moment was his rock bottom and that he had worked diligently to improve every day since.

“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you gotta do that,” Combs says in the now-deleted video. “I was f***ed up, I mean I hit rock bottom, and I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, and I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. Had to go into therapy, go into rehab, had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry, but I’m committed to being a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

Pasion, who briefly dated Combs, said she could tell immediately that there was little truth to the apology. She believed behavior during their relationship, which took place years after the incident, proved he hadn’t changed.

“When I watched that [apology] video, I knew he was lying because I knew what I experienced in 2021 — five years later,” Pasion said in the docuseries The Fall of Diddy (per Rolling Stone).

She shared why she felt she needed to speak out about him.

“I’ve decided to speak my truth and take my power back,” she said. “This man is sick.”

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ ex recalled a chilling comment he made while watching a documentary

Combs and Pasion met for the first time in 2013. He wanted her to take his number but he declined. In 2019, however, they reconnected. Combs’ former partner Kim Porter had recently died, and Pasion was grappling with the loss of one of her close friends.

“Something drew me into wanting to have the drink with him,” Pasion said. “I felt like I saw somewhat of a grieving, vulnerable person. He felt real.”

Pasion said they became “inseparable,” but she began seeing warning signs. They watched Surviving R. Kelly together, which detailed the singer’s abuse. A month after it aired, Kelly was arrested and charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He is currently serving 30 years in prison.

Pasion recalled Combs telling her, “There’s a little bit of R. Kelly in all of us.”

“I remember being like, ‘There is NOT a little bit of R. Kelly in all of us,’” she said. “But I wasn’t absorbing the severity of that statement until later.”

Cassie Ventura’s lawyer also spoke about the apology video

Combs’ apology rang hollow to Ventura’s attorney as well. She called out Combs for denying anything took place until the footage surfaced.

“Combs’ most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt,” her lawyer, Meredith Firetog, said. “ When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday.  That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”
