Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Expected Exes Like J.Lo and Cameron Diaz to ‘Stand Up For Him,’ Source Says
Federal agents arrested hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs in September 2024 after Homeland Security raided two properties in March 2024. Now, Combs faces charges racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution — all of which he pleads not guilty. According to a source, Combs expected to have more people in his corner. Here’s what the insider said about his disappointment in his exes, Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs expected to have more support from those who were once in his inner circle, a source says
Sean “Diddy” Combs was one of the most popular names in the music industry for decades. The Bad Boy Records founder helped young rising stars get their start. And he also threw wild parties full of A-lister Hollywood actors, music celebrities, and politicians. Unfortunately, Combs’ empire fell in 2024. The lawsuits continue to pile in against Combs. Several plaintiffs claim the mogul drugged and assaulted them with other celebrities present.
A source told In Touch Weekly that those once close to Combs consider it “social suicide” to have anything to do with him.
“It’s not like they’ve been going around trashing him, but everyone’s been giving him a seriously wide berth,” the insider alleged. “He’s radioactive at this point. Even if he hasn’t been found guilty, his name is mud, and it would social suicide to have anything to do with him.”
The insider added that Combs is “still in total denial” over the arrest. And he expected his famous exes, like Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz, “to stand up for him.”
“There’s a legitimate fear among a huge swath of people in Hollywood — J. Lo and Cameron included — that he could seriously embarrass them if he decides to talk about what they shared with him back in the day, which was pretty intimate,” the source continued.
Jennifer Lopez could get dragged into the case as a witness
Jennifer Lopez and Sean “Diddy” Combs have a long history. They met in 1999 on the set of Lopez’s music video for “If You Had My Love” and pursued a romance for a few years. Lopez and Combs were infamously involved in a New York City nightclub shooting in 1999. New York lawyer Pete Gleason told In Touch Weekly that Lopez could potentially go to Combs’ trial as a witness if the shooting comes up in court.
“Jennifer Lopez’s presence the night of the shooting incident and then departing in the same vehicle as Combs makes her a witness with firsthand knowledge and could subject her to being subpoenaed to testify under oath,” Gleason explained. “If there are any criminal charges or civil claims not outside the statute of limitations, this would likely prove problematic for Lopez.”
Lopez might also be able to “provide relevant testimony” in April Lampos’ case against Combs. Lampos alleged that Combs sexually assaulted her four times during his dating years with Lopez.
Cameron Diaz hasn’t publicly mentioned the Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs case
Sean “Diddy” Combs and Cameron Diaz reportedly had romantic interest in each other from 2008 to 2012. However, neither Combs nor Diaz ever confirmed their relationship. If lawyers believe that Diaz has any valuable knowledge of what happened at Combs’ parties, they won’t hesitate to contact her.
“If you were attending one of these parties, if you will, and you attended before, or you knew what was going to happen, that is, you knew a particular drug was being used, and drinks that were causing people to be coerced and taken advantage of, and you were there in the room, or you participated, or you watched it happen and didn’t say anything, or you helped cover it up, in my view, you have a problem,” attorney Tony Buzbee said on TMZ Live. “… We’re going to file public lawsuits and pursue these cases aggressively. Who will be named, when they will be named — all of that will come out in due course.”
Diaz has not publicly acknowledged the current court case or her involvement with Combs in the past.
