Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Once Explained How His Mom’s Friends Awakened His Sexuality as a Kid
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ world turned upside down after Cassie hit him with the first of what would be many lawsuits of sexual abuse. His recent allegations have inspired curious internet sleuths to dive a little deeper into the music mogul’s childhood to pinpoint what might’ve gone wrong. But it might not be too difficult to look into Diddy’s upbringing, since he’s often been very candid himself about his origins. In one very relaxed interview, Diddy shared what shaped his sexuality at an early age.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs pursued female attention when he was four thanks to his upbringing
A lot has been revealed about Diddy’s history with his mother, Janice Combs, as of late. The producer’s father died after getting shot when Diddy was just three, leaving Janice to raise him all by herself. He credited his mother for making the necessary sacrifices to make certain her children were well-fed and cared for. Even today, Janice might still be protecting her son. Although some claim she’s doing so the wrong way.
A year or two after Janice had sole custody of Diddy, Diddy experienced an awakening after Janice brought her friends around her son. In a resurfaced interview with Elle, Diddy revealed he picked up an interest in female bodies thanks to them.
“I was in pursuit of female attention from when I was probably four or five. It started with my mother’s friends putting me to sleep on their laps. But I wasn’t really asleep; I was enjoying the way it felt to lay on a pair of beautiful breasts,” he said.
But if Tim Patterson is to be believed, Diddy’s mom did more than bring friends over their house. Patterson revealed himself in the Peacock documentary The Making of a Bad Boy, which explored Diddy’s life story. Patterson claimed to be a childhood friend of Diddy’s, telling stories of the parties Janice threw when the rapper was still a kid.
“On the weekend, we partied in the house, and we did that a lot,” Patterson said. “He was around all types of alcohol, he was around reefer smoke. Drug addicts around, lesbians around, homosexuals, he was around pimps, pushers. That was just who was in our house.”
Patterson also claimed that he and Diddy were desensitized by the parties, although neither knew at the time.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs admitted he gets self-destructive in relationships
Thanks to his sexuality awakening at such a young age, Diddy had his first sexual experiences sooner than most. In an interview with Playboy (via HuffPost), Diddy revealed he made his first attempt with a woman when he was just seven.
“I was on top of a girl who was nine or 10, but it didn’t happen — so everybody doesn’t have to bug out. My mother and the babysitter whipped my ass, but it didn’t knock me off my mission,” Diddy said.
Diddy later succeeded when he turned 13, however, and has been sexually active ever since. Despite intimacy coming easy to him, relationships didn’t, which he realized after visiting a psychologist.
“A couple years ago, my psychologist came to the conclusion that this is one of the big problems I have as far as maturing in a relationship. After my father got killed, my mother said, ‘I’m never getting married again. I don’t want men around my children.’ So I’ve never actually been able to witness a husband and wife’s love,” he said. “Sometimes when I see it with my friends, I just find myself staring like a child, because I’ve never actually seen it before. It’s one of the sad parts of my life.”
Which explained his failed relationships with the late Kim Porter, Jennifer Lopez, and others.
“When a relationship gets to a certain point, I probably get scared and become a little self-destructive,” he said.
His words might’ve been prophetic given the situation he’s in now.
