Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Files Massive, $100 Million Defamation Lawsuit Over Recent Documentary
Hip-hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is not backing down easily. Diddy was arrested back in September 2024 on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. Since then, a number of people have come forward accusing the rapper and producer of sexual assault, solicitation, and other alleged acts, most of which stemmed from his infamous white parties and “freak offs.”
In early 2025, NBC’s streaming service Peacock released a documentary detailing a number of aspects surrounding Diddy’s early life, party-boy lifestyle, and the allegations against him. Now, Diddy is suing the network for $100 million for defamation.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs just filed a massive lawsuit
Prior to the documentary’s premiere, attorneys for the mogul had made statements about the “wild, unfounded theories” discussed in the “Making of a Bad Boy” production and what it included. It was evident that Diddy’s team was not happy about what was said in the documentary.
“These documentaries include unchecked claims and provide platforms for baseless conspiracy theories without accountability or evidence,” Diddy’s team told Newsweek back in early January. “In the case of the Peacock documentary in particular, the motivations and credibility of those being interviewed must be questioned. Many claim to have knowledge but lack any connection to the truth, while their wild, unfounded theories are cut and sensationalized to appear factual.”
Now, Diddy’s team is moving forward with a lawsuit. According to Page Six, Diddy’s team is suing both NBCUniversal and Ample, the production company, for a total of $100 million. The court documents, which were filed in New York and obtained by Page Six, say that the documentary suggest Diddy “has committed numerous heinous crimes, including serial murder, rape of minors, and sex trafficking of minors, and attempts to crudely psychologize him.”
Diddy’s team continues, “It maliciously and baselessly jumps to the conclusion that Mr. Combs is a ‘monster’ and ‘an embodiment of Lucifer’ with ‘a lot of similarities to Jeffrey Epstein.’”
The Peacock documentary touches on many uncertainties
Diddy’s team essentially argues that the documentary brings light to uncertainties that could then be taken as fact when they have not been proven as such. For example, his attorneys believe the documentary leads people to believe Diddy had something to do with his ex Kim Porter’s death in 2018. The documentary also touched on the death of The Notorious B.I.G. and other rappers and producers, suggesting Diddy had something to do with them.
It’s unclear what will come of the lawsuit, but Diddy’s team claims there were all kinds of stories told in the documentary that insinuate Diddy played a role in sexual assaults, murders, and other crimes. Diddy’s official trial is set to begin in May.
