Federal agents arrested hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs pleaded not guilty to the charges and is being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. According to his lawyer, he’s living by a saying while in jail. Here’s what it is.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has a saying he’s living by while in jail, according to his attorney

Sean “Diddy” Combs currently resides in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Two judges denied him bail, marking him a potential flight risk. While Combs’ lawyers suggested that Combs be granted bail on a $50 million bond, GPS monitoring, and visitor limitations, the judges didn’t go for it.

Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, said he would ask the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to grant Combs bail. The MDC is known for its violence and difficult living conditions. Agnifilo said he was not going to allow Combs to sit in jail “a day longer than he has to,” according to Associated Press News.

Agnifilo discussed Combs’ mental state in the TMZ Studios documentary The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment. According to the attorney, Combs remains in a positive mindset. He also lives by this adage:  “Don’t tell me what I did wrong, tell me what I do next.”

While Combs entered jail on suicide watch, he has since been removed. “He is focused and very strong,” one of Combs’ lawyers told People. “He is concentrating on his defense and preparing for his trial.”

If Sean “Diddy” Combs is found guilty of his crimes, he may face life in prison. According to the indictment, Combs had a “persistent and pervasive pattern” of abuse against women, and he “pressured witnesses and victims” to stay silent. He and his employees went to extensive lengths to keep the details of his sex parties, known as “freak-offs,” private.

A source told In Touch Weekly that “it’s actually even worse than anybody knows” regarding Combs’ past behaviors. According to federal agents, Combs used “intimidation and violence” to keep women in line. He also allegedly assaulted women by “striking, punching, dragging, throwing objects at, and kicking them.” Combs also allegedly controlled his employees by threatening them with violence.

“There are dozens of people in Hollywood who are terrified of being called to testify,” a source said. “It could spell ruin.”

The hip-hop mogul might be too ‘paranoid’ to eat while behind bars

The Metropolitan Detention Center is known for its rough and tough atmosphere. Larry Levine, a former inmate, told NewsNation that Combs might feel too “paranoid and scared” to eat while in jail.

“There’s people out there that he has things on that do have a substantial amount of money,” Levine said. “Imagine if someone paid someone off on the inside to actually poison his food, give him a heart attack and he dies, and no one would really think anything of it. So that may be one of the reasons he’s not eating.”

Levine also noted that Combs might not want to eat the food offered to him because it could make him sick. Some reports suggest the MDC has given moldy food to inmates in the past.
