Superstar rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs was on top of the world — at least, until a recent arrest threatened to forever change the way the world saw him. The hip hop icon’s alleged actions were first brought to light in 2023 when his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, filed a lawsuit saying that she was assaulted and abused by Diddy for years.

Fast forward to September 2024, and Diddy was officially arrested on allegations of sex trafficking, kidnapping, and bribery, among other things. The rapper’s net worth has suffered this year as a result of the findings; here’s how much he was worth, plus what he’s worth today.

Diddy’s net worth has reportedly dropped by nearly $300 million

Back in 2021, Diddy was worth an estimated $900 million — well on his way to becoming a billionaire. He previously founded Bad Boy records, which produced a number of highly-successful musical artists including Faith Evans, Janelle Monáe, and Machine Gun Kelly. He is also the founder of Sean John, a clothing line established in 1998. And in more recent years, Diddy stepped into alcohol sales, becoming a partner of Cîroc vodka and DeLeón tequila.

However, that $900 million net worth has reportedly dropped to about $600 million after a few major events: a lawsuit filed by ex-girlfriend Cassie, plus Diddy’s September 2024 arrest, to name two. The legal issues have allegedly dealt a major blow to his net worth, with the mogul currently worth an estimated $600 million, according to Parade. It should be noted that the loss is also partially due to the end of Diddy’s relationship with Diageo, the company he worked with on DeLeón tequila, which ended in 2023 due to an unrelated lawsuit. Cassie also received a massive settlement after her lawsuit against him.

Beyond that, Rolling Stone reported in December 2023 that as many as 18 brands had severed ties with Diddy after assault and abuse allegations started to come to light.

Diddy is maintaining his innocence in the current charges

Diddy is continuing to maintain that he is not guilty of all charges recently brought against him. The hip-hop star plead not guilty on September 17 but is currently being held without bail. Since Diddy’s arrest, more women have come forward with stories relating to his sexual abuse, and several celebrities have come under fire for previously attending Diddy’s parties.

Diddy’s attorney has called him an “imperfect person” who is “not a criminal,” as reported by AP; a trial date has not been set yet.
