Sean Diddy Combs’s ex-girlfriend Cassie was as passionate about her acting career as she was about her music. One of the singer’s movies, The Perfect Match, saw her engage in several love scenes with fellow actor and TV show host Terrence J. Although Diddy asserted he supported Cassie’s acting career, he was surprised by Cassie’s frequent love scenes.

Diddy was well aware that Cassie would be performing steamy love scenes with Terrence J on the big screen. The 106 & Park host felt he needed to tell Diddy ahead of time before the music mogul actually saw the flick. When Diddy finally responded to Terrence, Diddy told the actor that he only had one thing to worry about regarding the scene.

“Puff FaceTimed me and was like, ‘Playboy. You good. You my little brother. I’m going to be more mad at you if this movie is wack than I am if you touch her. So make it look authentic,’” Terrence J once told Hot 97.

In a 2016 interview with The Breakfast Club, Diddy reiterated that he wanted Cassie’s love scenes with Terrence to feel as real as possible.

“I wanted him to know that it’s a movie, man, go do your thing. I respect the art,” he said.

“I wanted to make sure that they were empowered with the freedom from me to please don’t think about me. Make it believable or else y’all are going to play yourselves and look like two light-skinned pretty people trying to kiss,” he said.

Diddy further asserted that he was happy to see Cassie grow into her own as an actor. But he joked that the movie might’ve had more love scenes than what he was expecting.

“I was a little bit sick. I was watching the movie and I’m like, ‘This is the third love scene.’ I’m tapping her, I’m like, ‘Yo, you really in the movie.’ They had a little screening for me, Terrence had a little screening for me. Because they were like, ‘Puff, we want to make sure that everything’s cool.’ So, I’m looking at her like, ‘Yo, you getting smashed three times in the joint and you ain’t even say nothing.’ I’m like, ‘Where the arc in your character?’ And she’s just like, ignoring me.”

But Diddy changed his tune after being sucked into the movie’s plot, realizing that the love scenes were important to Cassie’s character arc.

Cassie also shared what she felt about her movie’s more risque scenes while she was in a relationship with Diddy. She alleged that her boyfriend at the time didn’t object to the sequence, but that didn’t take away all of Cassie’s discomfort.

“Obviously, there’s a little bit of anxiety with that,” Cassie told E! News about the scene. “But Terrence is a good friend of mine. And Puff has been so understanding with everything, so, it’s good.”

But Cassie’s recent situation with Diddy has caused many to revisit this Perfect Match interview under new context. The interview was conducted in 2016, around the same time frame Diddy assaulted the singer in a hotel. But Cassie’s demeanor showed little signs of the assault she experienced days ago. She was asked if she felt love at first sight with Diddy, similar to the way her character fell in love in the movie. Looking back, her very simple and brief response might’ve been very telling.

“That was a long time ago,” she said in regards to her falling for Diddy.
