Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs: His Thanksgiving Dinner Behind Bars Explained
Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing his first holiday season behind bars after his September 2024 arrest. After years of lavish Thanksgiving meals, the entertainment mogul will spend the day housed in a federal corrections center with a very different menu.
What will Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Thanksgiving dinner be behind bars?
Sean “Diddy” Combs is spending his first Thanksgiving at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. He has been incarcerated there since September 2024.
According to the website The Frank Report, a former inmate discussed what Combs will experience during the holiday. His assessment comes from spending two Thanksgiving holidays at the federal correctional facility.
“Some federal prisons actually serve more traditional Thanksgiving meals (e.g. turkey, stuffing, cranberries, pies, etc.) MDC usually provides each inmate with an individual Cornish game hen, mashed potatoes, corn, and some sort of ‘special dessert,’” the website states.
Per the report, prisoners can sleep in and “have what will likely be one of the two or three best meals” as Christmas and July 4th are also “good meal days. In addition, he’ll also be getting a day off from his usual work assignment,” the report said.
What did Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs typically do on Thanksgiving?
For many years, Sean “Diddy” Combs typically spent Thanksgiving with his family and friends. He also hosted a feast called “Soul Food Sunday,” held the Sunday after the holiday.
Celebrity photographer Armen Keleshian photographed the attendees, who enjoyed a Friendsgiving feast at Combs’ home. A$AP Rocky, Usher, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa, DJ Khaled and French Montana all attended.
Keleshian said he was there to “document history.” He added, “It’s all about the right place, right time, and how people feel around you.”
Along with traditionally spending the holiday with family and friends, Combs also helped others. In 2022, he and his daughters D’Lila Star and Jessie James, along with Young Miami, hosted a Diddygiving in Miami, Florida.
The entertainer helped feed around 3,000 people from Miami’s homeless community via The Caring Place at the Miami Rescue Mission.
Will Diddy get out of jail in time for Christmas?
Sean “Diddy” Combs will be in jail for Christmas 2024. He has been charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Combs’ lawyers pushed for a quicker trial date as he was denied bail twice thus far. He will next appear in court on Dec. 18, 2024.
The judge in Combs’ federal case set a trial date for May 5, 2025. Unless allowed out on bail, he will remain in federal custody until that time.
