The magazine wrote, “Kimora said something to Combs, and he threatened to hit her—’ And I was pregnant! The moron!’ says Kimora. Combs eventually got down on his knees in public to apologize.”

Simmons was married to Baby Phat founder Russell Simmons from 1998 to 2009. They are parents of two daughters, Aoki and Ming. She added, “I respect [Combs] him for being a fierce entrepreneur, and I appreciate knowing that everything he does is emulating my [then] husband.”

Sean Combs is currently in federal custody awaiting trial on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. His arrest has nothing to do with Kim Porter’s death or allegations he once threatened to hit Kimora Lee Simmons.

However, Combs’ alleged behavior toward Simmons appears to show a pattern of bad behavior toward women. These behaviors culminated in a series of civil suits alleging sexual assault and physical violence, some going back to the 1990s. Simmons is not part of the allegations against Combs.

The United States Attorney’s Office shared details of Combs’ arrest on Sept. 17, 2024. An official press release stated that Combs was “charged in a three-count Indictment with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.”

It continued, “The Indictment unsealed today alleges that between 2008 and the present, COMBS abused, threatened, and coerced women and others, and led a racketeering conspiracy that engaged in sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice, among other crimes.”

Combs remains in jail at the Special Housing Unit at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. His next hearing was scheduled for Oct. 9, 2024.
