Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs Bragged About Secret ‘Deal’ With Girlfriends
Hip Hop mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs never shirked away from sharing his feelings on romance, dating, and relationships. But in on a national radio show in 2015, he opened up about a secret “deal” he offered his girlfriends.
Relationships with him came with a cost, Diddy admitted
Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’s influence in the entertainment industry went undisputed for years. Furthermore, as accusations against him for various types of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse came to light, some of his past comments have come back to haunt him.
In a 2015 radio interview on The Breakfast Club, Combs described a “deal” he offered all his girlfriends. He admitted this despite the fact he was seated next to Christian, his son with the late Kim Porter, who was just 15 at the time.
Combs said, “If I’m in a relationship with you, 25 percent of your time, you’re gonna just feel like, ‘Aw, man, I hate being here, this guy cheated on me, he lied to me.”
“But then there’s 75 percent of ‘I’ma make you the happiest woman in the world. I’m be there to support your dreams,” he continued.
Combs’ statement ended cryptically. “I’ma be there to hold you, listen to you. I’ma be there to be your best friend. And I promise you’ll smile the most. You know who I am; this is what it is.’ Which deal would you choose?”
A former staffer said women, including Jennifer Lopez, weren’t allowed to walk away
In a Rolling Stone story detailing Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ history of bad behavior, one of his former staffers said the women Combs was involved with weren’t allowed just to walk away from their relationships. Reportedly, there was too much at stake.
The article quoted Damien Vasquez, a former Bad Boy Records intern. He shared a story about Combs’ reaction to the end of his relationship with Jennifer Lopez.
As a result, Vasquez alleges that after the couple ended their relationship, Combs had his staffers camp outside MTV’s TRL studios with signs to try to win Lopez back during her appearance on the series. Combs and Lopez couple dated from 1999 to 2001 and created one of the first viral moments when Lopez wore a low-cut and backless Donatella Versace dress to the 2000 Grammy Awards.
Lopez later discussed her relationship with the rapper in a 2003 interview with Vibe. She alleged Combs “wasn’t faithful” to her.
“I never caught him [cheating], but I just knew. He’d say he was going to a club for a couple of hours and then never came back that night,” she recalled. “I had to think, do I want to be home with kids in 10 years wondering where somebody is at three in the morning?”
Sean ‘P. Diddy’s arrest has the hip-hop mogul in jail
Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ was arrested in Manhattan after being indicted by a grand jury. This arrest came months after a series of federal charges were tied to the entertainment mogul.
A 14-page indictment connected Combs to charges of racketeering and alleged sex trafficking as far back as 2008. A federal judge ordered Combs to remain in custody as he awaits trial. Combs is due back in court on Oct. 9.
Until then, the entertainer and businessman will remain at the Detention Center in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. This is the center where R. Kelly and Ghislaine Maxwell were held after each was convicted of sexual abuse charges.
