Hip-hop star Sean “P. Diddy” Combs is in hot water following the Homeland Security raid on his homes in March 2024 and the hotel footage of him attacking Casandra “Cassie” Ventura in 2016. Ventura and Combs dated from 2007 to 2018, and she filed a lawsuit against him in 2023 due to the damage he caused her through the years. In May 2024, Combs’ former head of security commented on Combs’ apology to Ventura following the release of the hotel footage.

Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs’ former head of security calls Combs’ apology to Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura ‘self-centered’

CNN obtained footage in 2024 that shows Sean “P. Diddy” Combs in 2016 running down a hotel hallway in Los Angeles to physically attack his then-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. The footage shows Ventura leaving the hotel room alone with a few personal items. When she reaches the elevator, Combs runs out of the room in a towel and proceeds to kick her and drag her through the hallway.

“Mr. Combs became extremely intoxicated and punched Ms. Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye,” Ventura’s lawsuit from 2023 stated regarding the incident, according to Fox News.

After the footage hit the media, Combs posted an apology. “My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” he said in a video posted to Instagram. “ … I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help; I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

Combs’ former head of security, Roger Bonds, spoke on Piers Morgan Uncensored about Combs’ apology. Ventura named Bonds in her lawsuit against Combs, as he witnessed some of Combs’ abuse firsthand. He called Combs’ apology “self-centered.”

“I didn’t see no tears, you know what I’m saying?” he said. “I just see something that people would feel that had to be done.”

Bonds continued by saying he “didn’t feel the remorse” from the video. “I’m not one to say whether he was or whether he wasn’t,” he added. “But saying that you went to get help, where’s the proof that you went to get help? Why you didn’t say her name at this particular time?”

Bonds added that he believes other women will come forward with allegations of abuse against Combs.

Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura posted a response to the hotel footage

Casandra “Cassie” Ventura posted a response to the hotel footage after Sean “P. Diddy” Combs posted his apology video.

“Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers, and those I have yet to meet,” she posted to Instagram. “The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning. Domestic Violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.”

She continued by asking “everyone” to “open” their “heart to believing victims the first time.”

Ventura added, “It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth about a situation in which you were powerless.”
