Hip-hop mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’s relationships are under the microscope following the release of footage showing Combs attacking Casandra “Cassie” Ventura in a hotel lobby. Combs never married, but he had several high-profile romances throughout his life. Here’s what he said about how he cheated and lied 25% of the time in his relationships.

Sean “P. Diddy” Combs was accused of cheating in multiple relationships. His romance with Jennifer Lopez allegedly ended because of Combs’ cheating ways, and he also cheated during his longstanding relationship with model Kim Porter. Combs claimed he was an incredible boyfriend, but he admitted to DJ Akademiks that his girlfriends should expect him to lie and cheat “25%” of the time.

“I’ve broken this down: What I can deliver out of a pie is, I can promise you that if I’m in a relationship with you, 25% of your time, you’re going to just feel like, ‘Oh, man, I hate being here. Oh, man, this guy, he cheated on me, he lied on me.’ That’s 25%, you know what I’m saying?” Combs admitted. “But then there’s 75% of, I’m [going to] make you the happiest woman in the whole wide world. I’m going to be here to support your dreams; I’m going to be there to hold you, listen to you; I’m going to be there to be your best friend. And I promise you’ll smile the most. You know who I am; this is what it is.”

Combs added that marriage focuses on “honesty,” and his “love contract” has the same values. “I’m bringing 25% of some bulls***,” he added. The hip-hop mogul said he would happily take the same deal if a woman presented him with the 25%/75% agreement.

Kim Porter and Sean “P. Diddy” Combs dated on and off for over a decade starting in 1994. During their relationship, Combs fathered a child with another woman. He also sustained a relationship with Lopez while he and Porter were on a break, raising cheating suspicions. Lopez and Combs dated for two years, from 1999 to 2001.

Porter’s mother, Sarah, spoke to Essence about her daughter’s calm demeanor in the face of hurtful rumors and Combs’ inappropriate actions.

“The whole family was upset about the situation with (Jennifer) Lopez,” Sarah said. “You hear rumors, and you see things on television. And if your daughter is involved, you want to know if she’s hurting. But Kim didn’t fall apart. She didn’t stop eating; she didn’t do any of that. She behaved normally. As her mother I was checking her out all the time, looking and watching to see if she was putting on an act. But she’s very resilient; she handled it like a champ, even though I knew she must have been hurting. I was so very proud of her.”

Porter noted that she didn’t have time or energy to wallow. “I couldn’t be somewhere in a corner heartbroken,” she told Essence. “I have kids. I’m a grown woman.”

The hip-hop mogul said he ‘just wasn’t ready’ to get married to anyone he dated

Sean “P. Diddy” Combs talks highly of himself as a boyfriend despite recent evidence suggesting he was abusive in his relationships. However, when it came to the ultimate commitment of marriage, he admitted he never felt ready.

“Just wasn’t ready; just wasn’t ready. Just didn’t want to do it,” he told Yung Miami in 2022 regarding marriage on her series, Caresha Please, according to Revolt. Combs added that he didn’t see many examples of marriage growing up after his father’s death. ” … I was just raised around women,” he continued. “I never really had those aspirations.”
