Did Fans Predict the Massive Twist at the End of Season 2 of Netflix’s ‘You’?
Sometimes, people just need a fresh start. That even includes serial killers like Joe Goldberg. After a rocky relationship with his ex-girlfriend and writer, Beck, Joe heads west in search of peace, seclusion, and maybe even Love. In true You fashion, this season had its fair share of twists and surprises. Here’s what fans are saying about the ending of season 2 of Netflix’s You.
This article contains major spoilers from season two of the Netflix original series, You!
Season 2 of ‘You’ premiered on Netflix on Dec. 26, 2019
After months of waiting, fans finally saw what happened after Candace (one of Joe’s first girlfriends,) confronted him in the bookshop. Turns out, she’s alive, angry, and she wants Joe to suffer for it. In an attempt to escape his past, Joe heads west for Los Angeles.
It’s there he meets Love, a girl with a passion for food who oftentimes seeks out “damaged” people because she’s pretty damaged herself. Of course, Joe falls in love and again, is willing to do whatever it takes to protect that love. Are these two a perfect match? The ending of season 2 seems to suggest so.
Season 2 of ‘You’ held a surprise ending
So, it turns out, Joe Goldberg is not the only murderer in this series. His girlfriend, Love, confessed to killing Joe’s landlord, Delilah, and Candace. She does both acts within the last few episodes, saying that she removed obstacles from them being together. After sweeping a few things under the rug, Love and Joe move in together, ready to have a baby and start a new life together.
Perhaps the biggest surprise is that Joe isn’t entirely happy with his makeshift family. After he settles into his new house and goes outside to read, he hears the neighbor, laughing at something she read in a book. He quickly realizes that he needs to do whatever it takes to be with her.
Will this woman be his next victim? Will Love find out and kill Joe? Fans will have to wait until season 3 to find out. Although there is no confirmation from Netflix, new episodes of this original series will presumably premiere within the next year.
Fans shared their love for ‘You’ and some character on social media
Since the premiere date of these new episodes, some viewers took to social media, sharing their thoughts about Joe and his latest adventure. Particularly, fans shared their love for Candace and Delilah, both of whom fell victim to Love.
“Are you… kidding me? Candace put in all that work, time, and energy to face her demon, avenge Beck, and save Love and that is how her story ends?!?! Nah I’m ready for war,” wrote one Twitter user.
“A lot of people seem to hate Candace for wanting to expose Joe, and y’all are rooting for Joe and Love… You all need help! They’re both evil and insane, I wanted Candace to win!,” said another Twitter user.
The first two seasons of You are available for streaming on Netflix.
