‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Fans ‘Need More’ of 1 Heartbreaking Storyline in Season 2
The newest reality TV show to grace the streaming world has been a major hit. Hulu’s popular show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, proved successful in its first season and has reportedly been renewed for a season 2. The show follows Mormon women of TikTok’s “Momtok” group living in Utah after the fallout of the swingers scandal a couple years back.
Although season 1 gave a good glimpse into every woman’s life, it didn’t touch on one woman’s past: Mayci. Now that fans know more of her story, they want to see more of the heartbreaking storyline come to light in season 2.
‘Secret Lives’ star Mayci Neeley lost her boyfriend while pregnant
Mayci Neeley proved to be the most neutral woman of the group during season 1. She remained friends with both Whitney and the other ladies, despite plenty of drama unfolding throughout the show. Although Taylor Frankie Paul was the main face of the show, some of the women have interesting backstories. Mayci revealed that she lost her late boyfriend in a car accident while 14 weeks pregnant with their son, but it didn’t make it onto the small screen. Now, fans want more — and Mayci seems to want to share.
Mayci posted a Reel to Instagram on September 29 with the caption, “I didn’t think I would make it, but I’m so grateful I chose to stay … His plan.” The Reel showed images of a pregnant Mayci attending the funeral of someone, then later meeting her now-husband. It was revealed that she was pregnant with her son, Hudson, when his father was killed in a car accident.
Fans want more of Mayci’s storyline in season 2
The Reel showed people how far Mayci has come since losing the father of her baby during pregnancy. Hudson is now in second grade, and Mayci is married to Jacob Neeley; they are raising Hudson together as well as their daughter, Harlow. And fans want to hear more about Mayci’s life in season 2.
“Need more on this storyline on season 2,” one fan wrote. Mayci replied to the comment with a fingers-crossed emoji and a red heart emoji.
“You were meant to be on this earth to inspire and you sure are doing that with your story,” another person commented.
“Praying they tell your story next season. You are resilient and your testimony makes so much sense for why you are such an incredibly forgiving person and friend,” someone else added.
Mayci proved to be somewhat of a voice of reason this season, supporting both Taylor and Whitney despite their falling out. She also has reservations about Taylor’s boyfriend, Dakota, though she does support Taylor and wants the best for her. Time will tell if the producers give Mayci’s story a greater focus.
