Selena Gomez Debuts 5 Fall Looks in 1 Weekend, Makes Big Career Shift Toward Hollywood’s A-List
Selena Gomez’s acting career continues to evolve, with her starring role in the upcoming musical crime-comedy, Emilia Pérez. Playing the ex-wife of a transgender Mexican cartel leader trying to evade capture, Gomez is receiving early praise for her “bold” and “captivating” performance. Critics anticipate the film could mark a significant step in her acting trajectory.
On October 13, Gomez attended the BAFTA Film preview of Emilia Pérez with co-stars Zoë Saldaña and Karla Sofía Gascón. At 195 Piccadilly in London’s Square Mile, the 32-year-old wore a stunning black gown wit intricate cap shoulders as she discussed her role as Jessi Del Monte, reports The News International.
Gomez said, “I wanted to be a part of [Emilia Pérez] for many reasons. As an actor, you’re so lucky to work with someone like [director] Jacques [Audiard]. And as an individual, I’m so honored to learn from these amazing women.”
Earlier that Sunday, Gomez attended a Netflix Awards Brunch in London. The former Disney Channel star gave a lesson on sophisticated fall dressing with her plaid mini coatdress. Pulled straight from Schiaparelli’s Autumn/Winter 2024 ready-to-wear runway, the outfit featured a beige and black pattern and mismatched gold buttons. Gomez paired the look with semi-sheer black tights and pointed-toe leather boots for the perfect autumnal outfit.
The “Love On” singer embraced spooky season with an Erdem spring 2025 outfit that looks straight out of Halloweentown. Floral embroidery and rhinestones covered the flowy black dress, which Gomez wore over a long-sleeved black turtleneck. The drop waist and tiered panels gave 1920s vibes as she attended an Emilia Pérez screening in London. The songstress layered an Erdem tuxedo jacket over the look, adding slingback Christian Louboutins for the perfect seasonal touch.
Gomez exuded strength and class at the Deadline Contenders Film event on Saturday. The Only Murders in the Building star donned a charcoal double-breasted suit. She added a black turtleneck, a classic gold belt, and pointed-toe heels as she discussed her future acting career post-screening.
She told the News International, “I don’t think we all expected it to do all this, but we’re really grateful. And the experience for me is hopefully a stepping stone into what I’m capable of doing and what I’m willing to do to get there.”
Gomez started the weekend with her most formal look, a pleated Oscar de le Renta gown in true red. The striking dress featured a boatneck neckline and unique twist detail at the waist. She wore matching Christian Louboutin pumps and Chaumet diamond earrings, rings, and a drop necklace. Aided by longtime stylist Erin Walsh, the Rare Beauty mogul gave us a weekend of incredible fall ‘fits.
