‘Selling Sunset’: Heather Rae Young Could Earn More Than $4,000 Per Sponsored Instagram Post
If you’ve seen Netflix’s Selling Sunset, you know there’s a lot of money to be made in the Los Angeles real estate market. The show chronicles the personal and professional lives of a group of agents at the LA’s Oppenheim Group as they try to sell some of the city’s high-end real estate — and earn huge commissions in the process. Those big deals can net agents like Chrishell Stause and Christine Quinn six-figure paydays. But that’s not the only way they can earn money. Now that they’ve become reality stars, the Selling Sunset agents stand to earn thousands of dollars from sponsored posts on Instagram.
Heather Rae Young could earn $4,000 per post
Online Casinos used a tool from Influencer Marketing Hub to calculate how much each Selling Sunset cast member could earn from a sponsored Instagram post. They found that Heather Rae Young had the highest earning potential.
Young — who recently announced her engagement to Flip or Flop’s Tarek El Moussa — is the show’s big earner on social media. She could earn $4,056 per post. (Potential earnings were calculated based on follower counts from early July 2020.)
Here’s how much the other ‘Selling Sunset’ agents could earn on Instagram
Young has the most Instagram followers — 947,000 as of August 7 — and therefore the highest potential earnings from sponsored posts. But her Selling Sunset co-stars also stand to bring in some significant cash.
Former All My Children and Days Of Our Lives actor Stause could earn $3,078 per post. Quinn, the show’s designated villain, could earn $2,160 per post, while Mary Fitzgerald was not far behind with potential earnings of $2,087 per post.
Maya Vander stands to earn $1,356 per Instagram post. Amanza Smith and Davina Potratz were on the low end of possible earnings, at $866 and $413 per post, respectively.
Davina Potratz is on top when it comes to commissions
Potratz might not bring in big bucks from social media, but she comes out on top on another ranking. Out of all the Selling Sunset agents, she is in the position to make the most in commission from homes seen on the first two seasons of the show, according to Online Casinos: $2,250,000.
Her seven-figure potential commission is tied to one property, a $75 million mansion in Beverly Hills. That 9-bedroom, 12-bath home is still on the market, and finding a potential buyer for the expensive home has definitely been a challenge, as viewers have seen.
Fitzgerald could earn $1,124,250 in commissions, while Quinn could make $932,400. Stause’s potential earnings sit at $539,670 and Young is at $460,770. Vander’s potential commissions are at $440,700 while Smith could earn $247,500.
Oppenheim Group co-owner Jason Oppenheim is also raking it in when it comes to commissions. In season 3, he finally sells the jaw-dropping $40 million mansion seen in the show’s first episode, netting a commission of $1,065,000, according to Decider.
Working on commission can be a challenge
The Selling Sunset stars specialize in pricey real estate, which translates to big commissions. But only if they can close the deal. That doesn’t always happen, which means their earnings are always up in the air.
“I think the hardest thing in real estate is working for commission only,” Fitzgerald told Express.co.uk. “Spending months sometimes with a client and then they change their minds.”
Selling Sunset Season 3 is currently streaming on Netflix.
