‘Selling Sunset’: Mary Fitzgerald Gave Chrishell Stause This Strict Warning After Keo Motsepe Breakup

Chrishell Stause is single again. After getting divorced from This Is Us star Justin Hartley, Stause thought she had found love with her Dancing with the Stars costar, Keo Motsepe but the two only lasted for a few months. Now, that she is single again, her Selling Sunset costar Mary Fitzgerald has given her some advice.

Stause’s divorce was almost as much of a surprise to her as it was to Selling Sunset viewers.

“He texted me that we were filed,” Stause told Fitzgerald on the show. “Forty-five minutes later, the world knew.”

After she received the divorce text, Stause said that she thought Hartley wasn’t being serious.

“I talked to him right after because I thought that must be a joke,” she said. “But that was kind of the end of the communication.

“When I found out, I was minutes before leaving the house for work so I immediately just grabbed a few things and I just got out of there as fast as I could,” she said on the show. “I don’t think I really knew where I was going or what I was going to do, but I just had to leave.”

After season 3 of Selling Sunset ended, Stause competed on Dancing with the Stars. Stause didn’t win the coveted Mirrorball but she did meet Motsepe.

“I had a little bit of a hangup at first because I was worried because he’s younger,” Stause said on DWTS winner Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Instagram live. “I was in my head and I was thinking [throws hands up]. But a lot of guys my age and older still don’t want what I am looking for…”

At the time, Motsepe seemed like the best thing to come out of the dancing competition for Stause.

“I’m grateful. I had the best experience [on DWTS] but this to me is the coolest thing,” she said. “I knew from my dance work I wasn’t going to win a Mirrorball from the beginning. To have this come from it, I’m just very smitten.”

What advice does Mary Fitzgerald have for Chrishell Stause?

Stause and Motsepe’s relationship only lasted three months and ended in Feb. Now, Fitzgerald has some advice for her co-star.

“Stay away from men!” Fitzgerald told HollywoodLife of how she warned Stause. When the outlet mentioned that Fitzgerald didn’t exactly take her own advice as she is married to Romain Bonnet, she clarified.

“I know, I know. Yeah, my advice, is let all of us…she’s very private in her private life and so until she’s ready for things to come out…but I would say next time, just let us know who you are even thinking about so we can kind of weed out the bullsh*t first,” Fitzgerald said.

Fitzgerald went on to reveal what makes Stause a great catch.

 “She’s so funny, she’s so funny,” Fitzgerald said. “What shocked me the most is how witty she is. She’ll say stuff on the show and I’m like ‘Oh yeah, she’s pretty cute,’ like when she says stuff. But she has these witty remarks and she’s so quick. She’s a very fun person to be around.”
