‘Selling Sunset’: Did Mary Predict Chrishell and Jason’s Breakup? She Says ‘He Can’t Commit’
Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim’s relationship had everyone talking. Mary Fitzgerald talked about her history with him on Selling Sunset, and she might have predicted their breakup.

Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim of ‘Selling Sunset’ broke up
Selling Sunset fans and cast members were shocked when Chrishell and Jason revealed they were dating. Netflix just released season 5, which shows their relationship. But the couple broke up back in December after months of dating.
“Jason was and is my best friend, and other than our ideas for family ultimately not being aligned, the amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change going forward,” Chrishell said in a statement on Instagram. “Men have the luxury of time that women don’t and that’s just the way it goes.”
Jason also posted a statement saying, “She was the most amazing girlfriend I’ve ever had, and it was the happiest and most fulfilling relationship of my life. While we have different wants regarding family, we continue to have the utmost respect for one another.”
Mary says Jason ends every relationship the same way
Season 5 starts with Chrishell and Mary talking about Chrishell’s new relationship on a trip. Chrishell said it’s been hard keeping the relationship a secret, but Mary has been helpful. Mary said she was happy for them, but they talked about Jason’s fear of commitment.
“I dated him,” Mary said to Chrishell. “I’ve never seen him like this.” She said in her interview that they dated six years ago, and the relationship lasted a year.
“You know, we were happy, but he can’t commit, and he just–he just kind of freaked out and broke up with me just out of the blue because he doesn’t want to be unfaithful. And so, he just ends the relationship before anything would ever happen. And he always has done that in every relationship.”
Heather Rae Young, Davina Potraz, Emma Hernan, and Maya Vander talked about the relationship back in the office. Davina said she never thought he would commit to someone. Maya said she went to his dinner party, and Jason even talked about being ready to have a kid, which shocked everyone. They had a theory that Chrishell might be changing him.
Mary Fitzgerald says they’re on different paths
Mary talked about their breakup with The Mirror. “It hasn’t been that bad for us, I’m sad for both of them, and obviously I’m trying to help both of them out, so is Romain [Bonnet],” she said.
“We talk to both of them, neither of them did anything wrong, they’re just on different paths,” she claimed. “We’re there for both of them and we love both of them and we just want them to be happy, and whatever that is, we’re going to support them 100 percent.”
Mary admitted they needed some space from each other right after the breakup. But they’re maturely handling it.
