‘Selling Sunset’ Season 5: Amanza Smith Explains Her Argument With Christine Quinn [Exclusive]
Selling Sunset returns to Netflix with season 5 on April 22. We caught up with The Oppenheim Group’s Amanza Smith ahead of Selling Sunset Season 5 to get details about her and Christine Quinn’s relationship. As Amanza revealed during our conversation, she “loves Christine,” but “right now [she] doesn’t like her.” Find out what caused their argument at the Caviar and Couture broker’s open.
Christine Quinn’s shower gift to Heather
Selling Sunset Season 5 Episode 3 gives fans a glimpse of Heather Rae El Moussa’s bridal shower. That’s where Amanza’s feelings about Christine started changing.
“Christine wasn’t invited for many reasons, but she sent an enormous flower arrangement to the bridal shower,” Amanza told us. The display featured red roses shaped like a heart. Many of the women, including Amanza, found Christine’s gesture insincere.
“In my opinion, it was way over the top,” Amanza added. “It wasn’t even close to any color scheme that Heather would ever choose for herself.”
Christine and Heather’s relationship has been rocky since Christine made comments about she and Tarek El Moussa “calling the press on themselves.” As a result, Christine wasn’t at the shower, but Amanza feels like she wanted to make her presence known.
Amanza Smith doesn’t have ‘hate in her heart’ for Christine Quinn
While speaking about Heather’s shower, Amanza admitted she “loves Christine.” She added: “Right now, I don’t like her.”
“I don’t like the things that she lied about [or] the attitude that she puts off. I love her because I don’t have hate in my heart, but I hope that one day Christine gets back to the one that we all knew and loved.”
Those things Amanza claims Christine “lied about” come up in Selling Sunset Season 5, with a particular focus on the comments she made about Jason Oppenheim and Chrishell Stause’s relationship. According to Amanza, she doesn’t see Christine changing at the moment. But she hopes she’ll “do the work to make that person come back.”

In the fourth episode of season 5, Amanza attends Christine and Chelsea Lazkani’s broker’s open. There, Amanza confronts Christine about another headline. This one said she was “banned” from Heather’s wedding.
“Those words never came out of Heather’s mouth,” Amanza clarified to us. “[Christine] wasn’t invited … but she wasn’t banned. Heather wasn’t getting along with her anymore.”
According to Amanza, Christine addressed the article saying, “How can I be banned from an event that I never gave a s*** about anyway?” Reading that confused Amanza, especially after Christine sent “a Noah’s Ark sized flower arrangement” to Heather’s bridal shower. So, Amanza texted Christine about the comment, which comes up in “Bad B****** Don’t Cry.”
“That was to me, the last straw,” Amanza told us. “I sent a screenshot to Christine and I said, ‘These are the things that come out of your mouth that make people question your authenticity. I don’t know why you do things like this.'”
Amanza concluded our call with the same sentiment she delivers in Selling Sunset Season 5. “If my daughter came home and said there’s a girl on the playground [who is] mean to everyone but she’s nice to me, I would say, ‘We’re not going to hang out with her because that’s not a good attitude to have,'” she said. “I choose to associate with people that are kind. Right now, I don’t feel like [Christine is] kind.”
