[SPOILER ALERT: Spoilers ahead for Selling Sunset Season 5 Episode 5.]
Emma Hernan opens up about her dating life in ‘Selling Sunset’ Season 5 Episode 5
Emma opens up to Chrishell as they walk through a potential home for Emma’s parents. They’ve spoiled her with unconditional love and she wants to return the favor in the form of a luxury Los Angeles property.
Chrishell admits she wants to “look for guys” for Emma, but Emma’s been on the lookout herself. She teases her time using Raya, the membership-based app that’s popular with celebrities.
During their talk, Emma neither confirms nor denies Aloe Blacc messaging her to meet up on the app. She also mentions Micah, her developer friend who wants to get together for drinks.
“It’s hard to find a quality guy on a dating app,” Emma tells cameras in a confessional interview. “There are definitely a lot of f***boys in LA.”
Later in the episode, Emma meets Micah for mezcal and empanadas. He shows off the space that will eventually become Sagrado Mezcaleria. There, they bond over “The Sacred Kiss,” the most flirty cocktail in this season of Selling Sunset. They also talk about their love of travel and Emma’s boyfriend dog Benny. At one point, Micah admits: “there’s not many people you meet that are good, authentic people.”
Chelsea Lazkani and Christine Quinn’s broker’s open comes up again
Still hurt from what happened at her Caviar and Couture broker’s open, Christine vents to Chelsea about the “f****** rough” situation. She claims she waited for the other women to text her to apologize or check in after the event, but no one did.
“Silence is compliance,” Chelsea tells Christine, adding how Vanessa Villela, Davina Potratz, and Maya Vander “aren’t [her] girls.” Later at an open house for Chrishell’s $10 million listing, Chelsea mentions the broker’s open drama. “I was so shocked,” Chelsea says of the others’ behavior. “When you’re at a professional event, you conduct yourself professionally.”
Regardless of her standing with Christine, Chelsea wants the women of The Oppenheim Group to form their own opinions of her and to support each other, including Christine — at least in a professional capacity. Maya says it’s too late for them to repair anything with Christine, but Chelsea stands strong as an encouraging “independent” party.
Amanza Smith talks about Ralph Brown in ‘Selling Sunset’ Season 5 Episode 5
In previous seasons of Selling Sunset, Amanza Smith has briefly mentioned Ralph Brown, the father of her kids. The couple divorced in 2012 and were awarded 50/50 custody of their two children, but that has since changed. While showing off the space she’s designing, Amanza fills Chrishell and Mary Fitzgerald in on Ralph’s whereabouts.
According to Amanza, Ralph didn’t show up for their scheduled mediation date regarding custody of their two children, Noah and Braker. The judge awarded Amanza sole, legal custody with no visitation rights for Ralph at the following court date.
Davina Potratz loses a difficult client in ‘Selling Sunset’ Season 5 Episode 5
Davina’s client Amanda, who Selling Sunset fans will remember wanted to list a property at $4.2 million in season 4, returns in season 5. Now, Amanda wants to work with multiple agents to sell the house she spent two years renovating.
With Mary there for support, Davina tries to get Amanda to give her the listing exclusively. After a lot of back and forth between agent and client, Amanda decides “the energy of the pressure” Davina put on her is enough to stop working with her for good.
Mary Fitzgerald sits down with Christine Quinn on her birthday
Also in episode 5, Mary sits down with Christine over coffee to talk about “keeping things friendly and positive” in the office. Christine denies ever “instigating a situation,” to which Mary reminds her:
“You’re at the center of all of it. I need you to recognize your behavior and change it.”
Of course, Mary’s talking about what Christine told the press regarding Chrishell and Jason Oppenheim dating before her divorce from Justin Hartley. Plus, there’s what Christine said before about Heather and Tarek El Moussa “calling the press” to get coverage. Mary admits Christine’s sense of humor is “off-putting” and wants it to stop.
The conversation shifts to Mary and Christine’s former level of friendship. Were they as close as Mary says they were or was their relationship more like what Christine previously described to the press?
As many Selling Sunset episodes do, “Do You Think We’re Friends” ends after Mary and Christine’s tense conversation. Will Christine stop the behaviors Mary has asked her to?
