[SPOILER ALERT: Spoilers ahead for Selling Tampa Season 1.]
‘Selling Tampa’ features an all-Black, all-female cast
Rosado is the founder and CEO of Allure Realty, a Tampa Bay real estate brokerage and the focus of Selling Tampa. Rosado founded the luxury real estate firm in 2019 and now manages a team she refers to as “highly trained professional, glamorous women of color [who] specialize in brokering real estate transactions for high profile clients” (via Allure’s site. The cast of Selling Tampa includes Upshaw-Frazier, Juawana Colbert, Colony Reeves, Anne-Sophie Petit-Frere, Karla Giorgio, Tennille Moore, and Alexis Williams.
‘Selling Tampa’s Rena Upshaw-Frazier obtained her broker’s license
In season 1 of Selling Tampa, there was some tension between Upshaw-Frazier and Rosado. When Rosado changed the commission structure, Allure’s agents were impacted by the decision. However, Upshaw-Frazier was the only one to confront Rosado about it.
The change in commission structure forced Upshaw-Frazier to evaluate what her future with the brokerage might look like. While filming Selling Tampa, Upshaw-Frazier obtained her broker license to have access to the possibility of opening her own agency.
“When you watch the show, you’ll see we do have disagreements about how some things are done,” Upshaw-Frazier told EurWeb. “Sharelle and I were friends before we went into business together. You have to be realistic as well because sometimes you don’t have the same ideas of how things should be done. It’s all about respect and love.”
Rena Upshaw-Frazier leases commercial office space for her brokerage
Throughout season 1 of Selling Tampa, Upshaw-Frazier meets with a commercial realtor to look at office spaces. She also tries to poach Colony Reeves and Anne-Sophie Petit-Frere, two of Roasado’s youngest and top-producing agents, to join her if she starts her own brokerage.
According to her website, Upshaw-Frazier has her own office at 1925 East 6th Avenue, just 10 minutes from Allure Realty’s Tampa offices. However, Upshaw-Frazier’s site includes the Allure Realty brand, leading us to believe Rosado is still involved in Upshaw-Frazier’s dealings outside of Allure Realty.
Rena Upshaw-Frazier still works for Allure Realty as a broker associate
According to Allure’s website, Upshaw-Frazier still works for Rosado. But now, the Netflix star is listed as a Broker Associate at Allure Realty.
“That experience helps her navigate even the stickiest real estate legal situations,” Upshaw-Frazier’s bio reads. “It also helps her understand the demands of the corporate world and working while trying to manage the process of buying or selling a home.”
