Now that Serena Williams‘ second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, has turned 1, the retired athlete has more time to socialize in Hollywood and beyond. The 42-year-old has flown to Paris for the Summer Olympics and attended the U.S. Open — with her bestie Alicia Keys — for the first time since she competed at Flushing Meadows herself in 2022. Fans can’t help but recognize that Williams is looking happier than ever, especially at a recent special event.

On Sept. 12, Williams stepped out in Beverly Hills, California, to celebrate the LA premiere of Exhibiting Forgiveness. Laughing and snapping photos with multihyphenate Oprah Winfrey and director Titus Kaphar, she honored the drama’s special message.

Exhibiting Forgiveness is about a Black artist who finds his path to success derailed by an unexpected visit from his estranged father, a recovering addict desperate to reconcile. André Holland and Andra Day star in the moving film, directed by Kaphar.

Both Winfrey and Williams showed their support for the indie drama, which received a Grand Jury Prize nomination at the Sundance Film Festival. Williams wore a black cropped long-sleeve top covered in lace. She added a matching midi skirt and simple black heels for a sophisticated and elegant look. The mother of two wore a silver watch and rings.

Williams kept her makeup natural and glowy with a pink lip and fluffy lashes. She let her hair down in loose curls as she smiled broadly at the afterparty. Fans are loving Williams’ retirement era. The 23-time Grand Slam champion is stepping out in support of famous friends and enjoying time with her two daughters and husband of nearly 7 years, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

Although Williams certainly has more time to relax these days, she’s still busy with several professional projects. Earlier this year, the Serena Ventures investor launched Wyn Beauty, a vegan and cruelty-free makeup collection formulated for movement and hydration. In 2023, she founded Nine Two Six, a multimedia production company elevating female and diverse stories with broad audience appeal.
