Seventeen Release Official Teaser for ‘Darl+ing’

Seventeen‘s first English-language single “Darl+ing” is set to drop on April 15. Leading up to the release of the single, the K-pop group has released multiple teasers promoting the song. On April 14, Seventeen shared an official teaser for “Darl+ing,” giving fans a preview of the single.

Leading up to the release of “Darl+ing,” Seventeen shared multiple teasers on social media including concept photos and a voice message.

On April 14 at midnight KST, Seventeen released the official teaser for “Darl+ing.” The teaser opens with the members of Seventeen walking through a wheat field.

The lyrics, “You know without you, I’m so lonely /When you’re not here, 911 calling /Into your head, again I’m diving,” can be heard.

S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon, Jeonghan, Joshua, Woozi, DK, Seungkwan, Jun, Hoshi, The8, and Dino are then seen in a sunlit home reading, eating food, and dancing.

Fans can then hear the repeated lyrics “I’ma treat you better /I’ma treat you better / I’ma see you better /I’ma see you better.”

The band members play together in the wheat field while Wonwoo is blindfolded, but when he removes his blindfold he finds that he is alone.

As he looks for the other members, the lyrics “Kiss me, baby,” are heard at the end of the video.

After Seventeen shared the teaser for “Darl+ing,” fans of the K-pop group shared their thoughts about the preview on social media.

“WOW-the music video! The props! The sets! The concept may look fantasy—but it hits me like the SVT creative collective house, or artists’ colony. Which is what the boys do in real life, but in less colorful surroundings in the city…,” one fan wrote on Reddit.

Another fan wrote on Reddit, “I was thinking the visuals looked a bit Hobbit-y but Peter Pan and the Lost Boys makes much more sense… there’s such a sense of wistfulness and nostalgia. I think this song is going to work on one level for the Western gp who don’t know who SVT is and on another for the fandom.”

Seventeen’s first English-language single will drop on April 15

“Darl+ing” will be Seventeen’s first English-language single. According to a press release, the new single is a pre-release single for Seventeen’s upcoming studio album.

The press release also shares, “… the song is expected to serve as a prelude to SEVENTEEN’s heartfelt stories for their fans—CARATs—around the world. It will also be a starting point to ‘TEAM SEVENTEEN,’ a new project the band recently unveiled through a teaser video that hints at an exciting year to come for SEVENTEEN and CARAT as a united team.”

“Darl+ing” will be released at midnight EDT on April 15.
