‘Sex and the City’ Stars, Cynthia Nixon and Sarah Jessica Parker, Have Favorite Episodes
Cynthia Nixon spent six years playing Miranda Hobbes on Sex and the City. Sarah Jessica spent six years playing Carrie Bradshaw. Now, the duo is set to reprise their roles in the HBO Max reboot, And Just Like That. Fans are excited to reconnect with their old friends, and the cast is eager to get started. Nixon and Parker enjoyed their time on the series so immensely that they both easily recalled which episodes of the show were their favorites.
Cynthia Nixon revealed her favorite Sex and the City episode
A fan asked Nixon about her favorite episode of Sex and the City during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. She was quick to reveal that she had a favorite episode to film, and it came pretty late in the show’s run. Nixon pointed to a season 5 episode featuring Nathan Lane as a guest star as her favorite.
In the episode, Miranda and her pals leave Manhattan and visit the Hamptons to celebrate the wedding of Lane’s character, Bobby Fine, to Bitsy Von Muffling. Julie Halston portrayed Bitsy. Nixon said that the episode was her favorite because of the atmosphere. The cast of Sex and the City spent much of the show’s run filming around Manhattan, so getting out of the city was particularly novel.
Nixon later admitted that she doesn’t have a favorite episode to watch. She noted that she doesn’t often remember what happened to her character at any given moment. The filming of certain scenes, however, definitely sticks out.
Sarah Jessica Parker’s favorite episode of Sex and the City came much earlier
While Nixon loved filming the season 5 episode that finds her character in the Hamptons with all her pals, castmate Sarah Jessica Parker has picked a much different episode as her favorite. Parker, who portrayed Carrie for all six seasons of the show, said her favorite episode happened in the first season.
Parker, also in an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, revealed that her favorite episode was “Valley of Twenty-Something Guys.” The episode was just the fourth of the show and featured Timothy Olyphant. In the episode, Carrie connects with a younger man to make out with while trying to figure out what Mr. Big is thinking.
When will the Sex and the City reboot air?
Nixon and Parker will have a chance to make new memories and perhaps find a new favorite episode soon. The pair and co-star, Kristin Davis, will be returning for a limited reboot of the famed series. The Sex and the City reboot, titled And Just Like That, was announced in January 2021. HBO Max has not announced a premiere date yet.
HBO Max will release 10 episodes of the series. It will take place during the Coronavirus pandemic. While most of the main cast has agreed to reprise their roles, Samantha Jones, portrayed by Kim Cattrall, will not be a part of the story.
