‘Sex and the City’ Reboot: Another Castmember Has Confirmed They Are Returning for ‘and Just Like That’

‘Sex and the City’ fans can breathe easy. At least one of the show’s main love interests is set to return for ‘And Just Like That’. While Chris Noth has yet to confirm if he will or will not reprise his role as Mr. Big, fans can rest easy knowing that the ever-dependable Steve Brady will make an appearance.

HBO Max announced the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That, in January 2021. Sarah Jessica Parker, who portrayed Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon, who played Miranda Hobbes, and Kristin Davis, who took on the role of Charlotte York, all confirmed that they would return to the series. The rest of the cast was up in the air. At least until now. One of the show’s main men just revealed that he’s ready to reprise his role as a doting husband and father.

David Eigenberg confirms that he will return for And Just Like That after being on the fence

David Eigenberg’s character, Steve Brady, became a fan favorite early on in Sex and the City. Fans of the show fell for his easy-going persona as soon as he wooed Miranda in season 2. Understandably, they were dismayed at the idea of Eigenberg not returning to And Just Like That. It was a real possibility that he wouldn’t appear in the reboot, though. Eigenberg originally said his job on Chicago Fire comes first and could take him out of the running for the reboot.

Thankfully, things appear to have worked out. Eigenberg told E! that he has been in touch with the team and that he is pretty sure he’ll be returning. Eigenberg told the publication that he’s just as excited for And Just Like That as fans, noting that he’s looking forward to seeing Cynthia Nixon reprise her role as Miranda. He didn’t mention how large his role in the revival will be, though.

David Eigenberg is in, but will Chris Noth and Evan Handler appear in the Sex and the City reboot?

Eigenberg has confirmed his involvement. At the very least, he confirmed that showrunners have asked him to appear in the series. While fans are happy to hear Michael Patrick King has given Eigenberg the option to return to the show, they still have questions. Namely, they want to know if Chris Noth and Evan Handler will also reprise their roles. Noth famously portrayed Carrie’s love interest, Mr. Big. Handler played Charlotte’s unlikely love, Harry Goldenblatt.

In February 2021, reports surfaced that Noth would not be returning for the HBO Max limited series. Fans were understandably heartbroken. Noth, however, gave them a bit of hope. He took to his Instagram comments to advise fans to ignore what they read in tabloids. Page Six first speculated that he would not return. Noth hasn’t officially announced his involvement, though. Handler has been pretty quiet about the project thus far.

When will the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That premiere?

HBO Max announced the return of Sex and the City in January 2021. Parker, Nixon, and Davis confirmed their involvement the same day that HBO made the official announcement. Beyond that, though, the details have been slow to come. HBO Max has not announced an official premiere date, and it doesn’t look like they’ll be giving that information to fans anytime soon.

In fact, fans will likely be waiting until 2022 to reconnect with Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and, hopefully, all of their men. The series has yet to begin filming. And Just Like That is expected to utilize the streets of New York City as its set, just like the original series. Filming is set to start sometime in 2021, but the Coronavirus pandemic will likely continue to influence when they can get started.
