‘Sex and the City’: Sarah Jessica Parker Sort of Comments on the Leaked Scene From ‘And Just Like That…’
And Just Like That…, the HBO Max reboot of Sex and the City is currently filming in New York City. Because the series utilizes city streets as its set, photos and information have been coming in fast. Last week, an image of a script page was leaked. The page seems to indicate Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big’s on-again-off-again relationship might be off again. Now, Sarah Jessica Parker is speaking out about the leaked storyline; well, she sort of is.
A leaked script page suggests Mr. Big and Carrie Bradshaw’s marriage could be in trouble
Last week, Page Six shared a photo of what appeared to be a script page for And Just Like That…, the Sex and the City reboot. In the script, Carrie sits with her pals at lunch and discusses what seems to be trouble in her marriage. Carrie states that she assumed she was happy in her marriage but that she was just one of the wives that Mr. Big took care of.
The line sent fans and the media into a tailspin, with many assuming a divorce storyline was on the horizon. While Carrie and Mr. Big may have hit a turbulent moment in their marriage, the dialogue doesn’t exactly spell divorce. The page doesn’t give much of anything away if you think about it. Frankly, fans of Sex and the City assumed relationship drama would be a cornerstone of the reboot, just as writers heavily focused on Carrie and Big’s drama in the original series.
Sarah Jessica Parker commented on media posts about the leaked script page
While HBO Max is keeping their lips sealed about And Just Like That…, Sarah Jessica Parker is not. Parker, whose character is the main focus of the leaked script, has made it her business to comment on content about the reboot, but she isn’t giving anything away. In an Instagram post, The Cut promoted a line-by-line analysis of the leaked script page.
Fans flocked to the publisher to find out what they thought of the scene, and apparently so did Parker. Not only did she like the post, but she dropped a comment, too. The famed actor said that she was looking forward to reading the analysis. Buzzfeed first spotted the comment, but fans were quick to pick it up, too. Many wondered whether Parker’s comment is a confirmation that the scene is real.
Is the ‘And Just Like That…’ storyline real?
Whether or not the storyline is real remains up for debate. HBO Max has chosen to remain quiet about the leak, and fans will likely need to wait until the series premieres to see if it made it into the show. It’s not uncommon for a show like And Just Like That… to utilize fake scenes to throw fans off the trail. Sex and the City was famous for filming fake scenes to keep important moments under wraps.
During the filming of Sex and the City 2, rumors swirled that Samantha Jones would be getting married. Kim Cattrall was seen in a wedding dress while filming the movie. As it turns out, the production team only filmed the scene to keep fans who swarmed filming locations on their toes. The scene never made it into the movie, and, as most fans know, Samantha never walked down the aisle. It seems entirely plausible that And Just Like That… is utilizing the same tactic to keep things quiet.
