‘Shahs of Sunset’: Why Asa Soltan Rahmati Isn’t a Full-Time Cast Member Anymore
Asa Soltan Rahmati has been a huge part of Shahs of Sunset over the years. But that has changed for Season 7 of the reality show. The new mother isn’t back as a full-time cast member so she has limited appearances. So what exactly happened? Here is everything to know about Asa Soltan Rahmati stepping back from the show.
Asa Soltan Rahmati reportedly kept more of her personal life off of Shahs of Sunset, which led to less of her on the show
The casting change definitely was being built up in Asa Soltan Rahmati’s last season of being a full-time cast member. Her fellow cast members, especially Mercedes “MJ” Javid, repeatedly accused Soltan Rahmati of keeping a lot of her life off of Shahs of Sunset.
This was certainly true considering Soltan Rahmati has been dating Jermaine Jackson Jr. but he has never appeared on the show. His absence from Shahs of Sunset was even more apparent in Season 6 since she got pregnant with their son, Soltan. The couple has decided to not have their baby appear on the show, which affected Season 7.
Well, what Soltan Rahmati left of her life to be Shahs of Sunset for Season 7 was reportedly not enough according to Tamra Tattles. So she no longer appears like a full-time cast member but she is still getting paid due to how she previously negotiated her contract.
Her cast members have talked about her stepping back from the show
Javid has been pretty open about criticizing Rahmati’s decision. “It was just an unfortunate dynamic,” she said on The Daily Dish podcast. “I’m so open and I’m not passive-aggressive; if something bothers me, I want to talk about it, and if you try to have a friendship with someone who’s closed off and secretive, then it just eventually lands on its face.”
Reza Farahan said in the same interview that he supports Asa Soltan Rahmati. “I totally respect her decision,” he said. “She’s focused on her man and her baby and her business. And I don’t think it was a right fit for her anymore. She didn’t feel super open to the group and she has her own new, smaller group now that she’s about.”

Fans finally got to see the new mom on Shahs of Sunset in the episode, “Vida Knows Best.” There she talks to Adam Farahn about his relationship with Reza. The married couple is still going back and forth about children so he wanted to get her advice.
She posted a picture of her on the show on Instagram and wrote in the caption, “As promised I made a quick cameo tonight my beautiful ones. My baby Adam Joon comes to visit me at @asakaftans boutique. Love you all much too much and Thank you from the deepest warmest part of my heart for your incredibly sweet and beautiful messages. I love you MORE.”
