Shailene Woodley Opens Up About ‘Immediately’ Moving in With Aaron Rodgers During the Pandemic
Shailene Woodley is an actor known for her work in The Fault in Our Stars (2014) and the Divergent movie series. She also had starring roles on shows like The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Big Little Lies.
Woodley’s personal life gets a lot of attention as well, especially now that she is in a relationship with football star Aaron Rodgers. The couple has been very private about their romance, but Woodley recently opened up about their decision to “immediately” move in together.
Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers met during the pandemic
Woodley and Rodgers’ love story started during an unusual time. They fell in love while the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic was raging on around the world.
“I still have never been to a football game because we met during this wacky, wacky time, and all of the stadiums were close, that he was playing in,” she shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
It’s not clear exactly when they met, but according to E! News, Rodgers first hinted at his relationship in September 2020. Both Woodley and Rodgers broke up with their previous partners earlier that year.
Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers ‘immediately’ moved in together
The pandemic has been an unprecedented time, which means some couples are doing unprecedented things. For Woodley and Rodgers, that means moving in quicker than expected.
“Starting a relationship where you immediately move in with someone — because it’s a pandemic and you can’t just get on a plane and go back and forth on weekends — taught us a lot about each other very quickly,” she told Shape in a new interview. “We jumped in headfirst and got some of the sticky bits out of the way early.”
According to Shape, Woodley believes their relationship benefited from not having disruptions associated with their busy schedules. Nonetheless, she also thinks she and Rodgers would have been fine regardless.
“I have the perspective that I would have met Aaron in any context, any space in time, because I feel we were meant to be together,” Woodley said.
Other celebrities also lived with their partners during the pandemic
Woodley is not the only celebrity who saw the pandemic as an opportunity to quickly take their relationship to the next level.
For example, Ariana Grande got together with her current beau, Dalton Gomez, in early 2020. The couple hunkered down together during quarantine, and it seems things went well for them. Grande and Gomez got married in May 2021.
Other couples who quarantined together at the start of their relationship include Tiffany Hadish and Common as well as Nina Dobrev and Shaun White.
Unfortunately, not every quarantine couple got a happy ending. Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich started dating in early 2020, and they moved in together as the pandemic picked up. The couple even announced their engagement in July. However, their romance came to an end just two months later.
