Shailene Woodley Vehemently Defends Her Fiancé Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers has been making headlines since news broke that he tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). The Green Bay Packers quarterback also confirmed that he was unvaccinated. Naturally, some fans were upset because Rodgers seemed to lead fans and the media to believe that he had been vaccinated. Furthermore, he has seemingly broken the protocol required of unvaccinated players. But what does his fiancée, Shailene Woodley, have to say about the media storm?
Shailene Woodley first connected with Aaron Rodgers in quarantine
Woodley and Rodgers actually first connected during quarantine. While they are both famous in their own right, the actor wasn’t familiar with the NFL player prior to meeting. The Big Little Lies alum has been vocal about the fact that she was not a fan of football before dating Rodgers. In fact, it shocked her that she had so much in common with someone who “throws balls for a living.”
Fans wondered if the ‘Divergent’ actor would address her and her fiancé’s vaccination statuses
Still, Woodley couldn’t deny her chemistry with Rodgers and the pair secretly dated, got engaged, and eventually informed fans of their courtship. They have been pretty vocal about their romance since announcing their engagement back in February. Naturally, when the news broke that Rodgers was unvaccinated, fans wondered if Woodley would address the situation at all.
Thus far, Woodley hasn’t specifically addressed her fiancé’s lack of vaccination. However, she did eagerly jump to his defense on Tuesday, November 9. After Daily Mail mistakenly reported that Rodgers was “breaking rules” to grab a coffee in Los Angeles, when he was supposed to be self-isolating, the actor hopped on Instagram story.
Woodley slams the media on Instagram and defends the Green Bay Packers quarterback
“Literally ya’ll need to calm the f*** down,” Woodley penned. “This is straight up HILARIOUS. News outlets STILL grasping at straws to disparage Aaron. Finding random f****** men on the streets of LA and saying it’s him.” Continuing on, Woodley shared all the reasons she knew the man in the picture wasn’t her fiancé, citing his body.
“I know Aaron’s body VERY well,” Woodley penned about Rodgers. “First off his feet, ahem and no offense to this rando dude, are a LOT bigger. ;) Also, for those of us who know Aaron beyond the worlds of obsessed sport and s**** media, it’s no secret he has the hairiest hands on the f****** planet. This, oblivious homie, clearly, does not (go ahead, zoom in).”
Did Woodley go too far in her bid to defend Rodgers?
Finally, Woodley cited the anonymous man’s car as a reason it couldn’t possibly be Rodgers. “Also, cute car dude, but Aaron would never drive this,” she concluded. Clearly, Woodley is willing to stand up to those making false claims about her fiancé. However, her choosing to do so seemingly at the expense of a man minding his own business and getting coffee, might not be the best course of action.
