‘Shameless’: Here’s When Season 11 Will Drop on Netflix and Who’s Returning
It isn’t easy for many Shameless fans to scroll through social media on Sunday nights while Showtime airs Season 11 of the popular TV Series. Many fans stream the dysfunctional Gallagher family on Netflix; however, only seasons 1 through 10 are available. So, when will season 11 hit the streaming giant?
Here’s what to expect from ‘Shameless’ Season 11
Shameless Season 11 began airing on Showtime on Dec. 6, 2020. The series is in its final season, and the party’s not over yet. Cast members returning for the last hurrah include William H. Macy as Frank Gallagher, Jeremy Allen White as Lip, Cameron Monaghan as Ian, Ethan Cutkosky as Carl, Emma Kenney as Debbie, and Christian Isaiah as Liam. The only member of the Gallagher family not returning is Fiona (Emmy Rossum), unless she makes a surprise appearance.
“It’s last call for The Gallaghers, and you’re invited to the party to end all parties,” the trailer for season 11 reads. “After a decade of dysfunction, the South Side’s favorite clan is going out with the biggest bang ever.”
Veronica (Shanola Hampton) and Kevin (Steve Howey) will be back, as well as Ian’s husband Mickey Milkovich (Noel Fisher), and Lip’s girlfriend and baby momma, Tami Tamietti (Kate Miner).
“It’s going to be a wild last ride, but changes are coming that will force each of them to either step up or hit the road,” it continues. “And while devolving may come more naturally than evolving in a family where excess never gets old, they know one thing for certain—Gallagher’s may grow up, but they’ll never grow apart.”
When will ‘Shameless’ Season 11 be released on Netflix?
Netflix does not have an official release date yet for Shameless Season 11. However, if the last four years’ pattern holds, it will drop on Netflix on Aug. 28, 2021.
For the last four years, each season came to Netflix six months after its season finale aired.
Season 11 began airing on Showtime on Dec. 6, 2020 and will have 12 episodes. Showtime also added a six-episode limited series that airs during season 11, called Shameless Hall of Shame.
It contains new and original Shameless scenes mixed in with a retrospective look at each character’s journey throughout the previous 10 seasons. The season 11 finale is set to air on Feb. 28, 2020. If Netflix follows the last four years’ pattern, the series will drop on Aug. 28, 2021.
What to do if you can’t wait until August to watch the Gallagher’s finale
Viewers who can’t wait until summer 2021 for more Shameless can watch new episodes on Showtime. There are various ways to watch Showtime on multiple streaming services, including directly through the Showtime website. However, if you already have Hulu, the service is only an extra $4.99 monthly to add on.
Showtime also offers a 30-day free trial that will give viewers plenty of time to catch up on new episodes.
Shameless Season 11 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.
