Shark Week 2024: When It Starts, Schedule, Who’s Hosting, and More
Discovery Channel is diving back into Shark Week. The highly anticipated TV event returns this July with 21 hours of all-new programming about the ocean’s most feared apex predators.
Highlights of Shark Week 2024 include the next chapter of the hit show Belly of the Beast, which offers a real look at a Great White shark feeding frenzy; a look at a potential new hammerhead species; and an investigation into a massive shark that decapitates its victim and terrorizes a local village.
John Cena hosts Shark Week 2024
John Cena will guide viewers through this year’s Shark Week, previewing each night’s top moments alongside interviews with fan-favorite shark experts.
“I usually do Shark Week from my couch – with lots of snacks, but this year I’m beyond excited to host the week dedicated to the endlessly fascinating, action heroes of the ocean,” Cena said. “It’s a wild week of shocking new footage, new discoveries, and lots and lots of teeth.”
Shark Week kicks off on July 7
Shark Week 2024 begins Sunday, July 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Discovery Channel. New programming airs through Saturday, July 13.
Shark Week also streams on Max. Those craving more Shark Week content can also listen to Shark Week: The Podcast, which “brings the darkest and weirdest corners of the shark world to light.” All 10 episodes are available on Apple, Spotify, and other platforms.
