Avengers: Endgame might’ve just cemented these characters in the team of Avengers. Whether it’s Shuri’s brain, Okoye’s strength, or Nakia’s heart, the women of Black Panther prove to be some of the most powerful superheroes. Here are a few of our favorite moments from these characters.

When Shuri improved T’Challa’s Black Panther suit

Just because something works doesn’t mean it can’t be improved. After T’Challa comes back from a mission, Shuri invites him into her lab to look at some of her latest innovations. One of which is a new version of his suit that fits within the teeth of the necklace. There’s also the super quiet shoes that Shuri calls “sneakers.”

Although Shuri is younger than a number of the Avengers, according to the Russo Brothers, she’s one of the smartest characters in the whole MCU. (Yes, even smarter than Bruce Banner and Tony Stark.) Not to mention Shuri isn’t afraid to fight alongside her brother, standing up for Wakanda in Black Panther and the universe in Avengers: Endgame.

When Okoye, Scarlet Witch, and Black Widow teamed up in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

No one is ever alone. The Scarlet Witch gets cornered by one of Thanos’ fighters, Okoye and Black Widow spring into action, protecting her until she’s strong enough to stand. This would be the first of two fights dominated by the women of the MCU.

During Avengers: Endgame, Okoye appeared alongside Shuri, Captain Marvel, Wasp, Scarlet Witch and other powerful women, ready to fight their way through Thanos’ army. (Eventually, they won!)

When Nakia convinced T’Challa to help global communities in need

Although Nakia often works as a spy for Wakanda, this warrior is pretty close to T’Challa and he often confides in her regarding ruling the country. When he asks for her opinion and what more they can do, Nakia shows her heart, encouraging him to offer aid and refuge for those in need.

That’s not to say Nakia isn’t a powerful fighter. She embarked on a mission to South Korea with Okoye and T’Challa, later fighting against Killmonger with Shuri. During the beginning of Black Panther, she helps free a young boy and the women who were taken captive.

When the Dora Milaje fought against Thanos in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

As warriors to the king, the Dora Milaje are some of the most powerful fighters in Wakanda. They’re not afraid to fight for what’s right, even when that means dying and going against their own people in Black Panther. When Thanos’ army enters Wakanda in Avengers: Infinity War, the Dora Milaje aren’t afraid to stand on the frontlines.

They return for Avengers: Endgame, fighting alongside their king and Avengers like Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor. Reportedly, fans will get a chance to see these powerful women in a sequel to Marvel’s blockbuster. Until then, the 2018 release, Black Panther, is available on Disney’s streaming platform
