As Biles clutched her custom GOAT necklace, the 4-foot-8 athlete became the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history. From the podium, fans squinted to see the details of the 27-year-old’s bejeweled piece made by Janet Heller Fine Jewelry. Many speculated on its value as the California-based jeweler received many requests for replicas — all of which they denied.

Janet Heller hasn’t revealed the exact cost of the three-dimensional goat, reports The Sun. However, the jeweler divulged enough details for others to guess. UK retailer Steven Stone put together the specs, which include 546 diamonds set on the 14K white gold goat hanging from a white gold chain. “The sentimental piece symbolizes years of hard work, dedication, and triumph over adversity,” explains Maxwell Stone. With this information, the jeweler estimates the necklace’s worth at $5,000.

Biles explained that she knew the piece would be polarizing. “My GOAT necklace is just kind of an ode because the people love it and some people hate it,” Biles told reporters at a news conference, according to Today. “So, it’s like the best of both worlds. I was like, ‘OK, if it goes well, we’ll wear the GOAT necklace.’ I know people will go crazy over it.”

According to NBC News, Heller had about five weeks to design the bespoke piece. The jeweler’s team developed “several iterations,” and Biles did not know exactly what the final necklace would look like. The biggest surprise for the Columbus, Ohio, native: She didn’t know it would be 3D.
