Singer Jaguar Wright Says Rapper Common Sexually Assaulted Her in a Shocking Instagram Post
Common seems to be happy and in love with Tiffany Haddish. The couple is reportedly expecting their first child together. But as Common’s new relationship blossom, the rapper and activist is now facing serious allegations of sexual assault from a fellow entertainer. Singer Jaguar Wright details the morning she says things took a turn with Common in a new Instagram video.
Who is Jaguar Wright?
Wright is a sultry vocalist whose claim to fame is her work alongside fellow Philly natives, The Roots. She toured extensively with the group in the early 2000s before branching off as a solo artist with a number of features. Her most famous work is on Jay-Z’s 2002 single “Song Cry.”
She also participated in national campaigns with Coca Cola. Her two solo albums – Denials, Delusions & Decisions – and Divorcing Neo 2 Marry Sou – are critically acclaimed.
Wright’s core touring is international. She’s constantly on stage with a huge fan base in Europe. Her sets are typically intimate in venues that mirror old school supper clubs.

She recently began infusing more Rock N’ Roll elements into her sound, citing Ike & Tina Turner as the inspiration. In a 2013 interview with The Philadelphia Tribune, Wright talks about her journey to incorporating more eclectic music.
“I started studying Tina Turner, and I started looking at her career. You know, there was always an edge to her – there was always an edge to me – even though the soul was more rhythm and blues when she was dealing with Ike, when they would kick it up a notch she was totally a bad-ass rock chick,” she says.
Wright deems her new sound “Rock & Soul,” marrying both her soul background with her new love of rock.
Jaguar Wright accuses Common of sexual assault
Wright is currently mourning the passing of a friend and fellow musician, Malik B. of The Roots. While speaking on Instagram live about her time with Malik, she began reminiscing on time she spent touring with Common.
She says Common tried to sleep with her after a performance one night. Wright says she refused but he didn’t take no for an answer. The details of the accusation are graphic.
“The next thing I know, I wake up. It’s morning and I feel something poking in my face and sh*t. And it’s just poking in my face, poking in my face. And I’m like ‘What the f*ck?!’ Then I open my mouth, this n*gga trying to stick his d*ck in my mouth while I’m sleep,” she alleges.

Wright claims Common’s public relationships are a cover-up of his private indiscretions. Common’s dating history includes relationships with Erykah Badu, Serena Williams, and Angela Rye.
“I don’t even know why he running around parading around here with all these public relations relationships that never seem to last. When’s the last time he actually had a real b*tch? You was with Serena that didn’t work out. You was with whoever and whoever. You always got whose hot dating you but the sh*t don’t last long. He ain’t been right since Lauryn Hill left him anyway,” she says.
As of today, Common hasn’t spoken on Wright’s allegations.
