Who Sings the ‘Full House’ Theme Song?
There was plenty of music on this sitcom, as well as its Netflix spinoff, Fuller House. That includes episodes with the Beach Boys, Little Richard, and the opening title sequence and its song, “Everywhere You Look.”
Who sings the Full House theme song? Here’s what we know about this iconic sitcom and the artist behind its opening credits song.
Who sings the original ‘Full House’ theme song?
There’s plenty of hearts and hands to hold onto in this sitcom. Full House premiered in the 1980s, introducing fans to the world of the Tanner family for several seasons. That includes Danny Tanner, the father figure who owns the San Francisco home.
Almost every episode of this series starts off with the iconic title sequence, complete with the cast members smiling and the Full House theme song. The original Full House theme song, “Everywhere You Look,” was written by Jesse Frederick and Bennett Salvay and performed by Jesse Frederick.
This is the same artist who performed the themes for shows like Perfect Strangers, Family Matters, and Step By Step. However, a different artist performed the theme song for the Netflix spinoff series, Fuller House.
Carly Rae Jepsen adapted ‘Everywhere You Look’ for ‘Fuller House’
When Netflix created their own series featuring the Full House characters, Fuller House, they incorporated the same theme song. This time, “Everywhere You Look” was performed by Carly Rae Jepsen, the artist behind songs like “Call Me Maybe” and “I Really Like You.”
“Full House is essentially my childhood,” Jepsen said during an interview with Rolling Stone. “It was my favorite TV show growing up… It was casually mentioned in one of those phone calls, and I said, ‘What? We have to make time for this! I’ll come in the middle of the night, whatever it is.’”
There were a few musical moments in ‘Full House’
The theme song isn’t the only song featured in this sitcom. The character Uncle Jesse, portrayed by John Stamos, was a musician who had his own band — Jesse and the Rippers, which later became Hot Daddy and the Monkey Puppets.
He performed alongside Little Richard, the Beach Boys, and even a choir during his wedding. Danny Tanner, as a fan of music, sometimes played the guitar. Joey played the harmonica. For the spinoff series, Fuller House, Stephanie Tanner shared her love for music.
She casually mentioned that she had a successful DJing career, which she paused to move in with her sister. She later wrote original music, inspired by her daughter. There was even a musical marriage proposal between DJ Tanner and her high school sweetheart, Steve.
Full House is available on Hulu. Episodes of this Netflix original spinoff series, Fuller House, are available on the streaming platform.
