A mysterious death in ‘Siren’ Season 3 Episode 2
Siren Season 3 Episode 2 picks up where the first episode left off. Helen Hawkins is seen going into the ocean. Sarge, the merman from Ryn’s colony who appeared to her in the last episode, shows up again. He puts his hand into a fist and then covers it with his other hand.
Helen is confused, unsure of what he’s trying to tell her. The story then moves to the next morning, with Ben walking into Helen’s apartment because he left his phone there. Helen says she had a strange dream, revealing that her meeting with Sarge was a dream. Ben asks about it and Helen is about to tell him but then he sees the texts that Tia sent from his phone.
Ben then goes down to the docks to see what happened. When he gets there, he sees blood and realizes that Commander Kyle must be dead. He then goes to tell Maddie what happened and that he thinks Tia killed the commander. Ben mentions that the military will be looking for Kyle and Maddie says that they should talk to Ryn.
Ryn says ‘no humans’
Next in Siren Season 3 Episode 2, Helen meets Ben’s father Ted and asks how he’s doing. Ted says he’s fine but that there’s something from the night of his wife’s accident that is never far from his mind. He wants to figure out where they were and it’s a place called Carson Sound. Helen tells Ted to come with her.
Ben and Maddie go talk to Ryn and find out Tia’s plan to unite all of the merpeople. Ben cautions Ryn to be careful, to which Ryn responds that Tia is powerful but so is she. Back with Helen and Ted, Helen shows Ted books that mention where his ancestor Charles Pownall’s ship went down. It happens to be Carson Sound.
Another book tells the story of the mermaids that Charles encountered and Helen says she thought Ted didn’t believe that part of the story. Ted says that he doesn’t know what he believes. Ryn says that since Tia found her in Helen’s shop, she will go back there. Maddie offers to go with Ryn but she says no humans.
New faces and old friends in ‘Siren’
Maddie goes to Seattle to see a man who is creating a product to clean up the plastic in the oceans. Meanwhile, Tia tells Ryn that the humans who captured her stole her song by cutting in her brain. Maddie and the man named Rob Wellens go to dinner together. Katrina, another mermaid from Ryn’s colony, then shows up where Ryn and Tia are.
Katrina is actually, according to Ryn, from Tia’s colony but was separated from them as a baby. Ryn’s colony found her and raised her. Katrina tells Ryn about the airplane that crashed in the water, dead humans inside. One of Ryn’s colony saw Tia coming to land.
‘War is coming’ in ‘Siren’ Season 3 Episode 2
Ryn goes to get Tia some food and leaves Katrina with her. Ben talks to Helen about his father and then goes to find him. Katrina tells Ryn what Tia’s true plan is. She wants to unite all the merpeople, that part is true, but she also wants to kill all the humans and anyone else who stands in her way.
Tia goes back into the water and Ryn follows after her. Meanwhile, Ben’s father Ted is out in his boat, heading for Carson Sound. Ted falls in the water and Ben goes in after his father. He manages to rescue him but not before Ted sees Tia and Ryn in their mermaid forms.
Ryn prevents her from attacking Ted and the two mermaids fight, with Ryn getting severely injured. Luckily for Ryn, other members of her colony show up and protect her and Tia swims away. Ryn’s colony brings her out of the water and onto land, taking her to Helen’s place. Helen asks one of the mermaids, Eliza, what Sarge’s message means and she tells Helen that it means war is coming.
