‘Sister Wives’: 3 Reasons Robyn Brown and Kody Brown’s Marriage Won’t End in Divorce
Sister Wives season 19 is just weeks away from premiering, and fans might be in for something a bit new. It appears that the last remaining couple in the Brown family is experiencing significant marital issues. Robyn Brown and Kody Brown seem to have hit a rough patch, but fans of the famed reality TV series don’t exactly buy it, nor do we. While the recent trailer suggests Kody and Robyn are contemplating divorce, it is doubtful that the couple will be separating soon. We’ve collected three reasons why Kody and Robyn will remain married despite what the trailer suggests is happening between them.
Kody and Robyn still own a lot of property together
We don’t think Kody and Robyn Brown will divorce soon because of the nature of their marriage. It would be harder for Kody and Robyn to dismantle their marriage than it was for Kody’s other wives to walk away. While Meri, Janelle, and Christine left Kody without many legal hurdles to contend with, Kody and Robyn could not do the same. Because Kody legally wed Robyn, they would have to go through legal channels to end their union.
The couple also owns a fair bit of property together. Things could get ugly if either one decides they want out of the marriage. We aren’t saying that the couple can’t get divorced, but frankly, neither one of them appears to be highly motivated. We think they are more likely to stay together than divorce because it would be easier than untangling their finances.
Neither Kody nor Robyn want to be wrong
Even if Kody and Robyn are inherently unhappy together, it seems unlikely they’ll separate, at least while Sister Wives is on the air. Robyn and Kody blamed the other wives for the breakdown of their marriages to Kody. Robyn was downright smug about her ability to keep her man happy. Kody contended that he could keep Robyn happy, therefore his other brides should have been happy, too. Deciding to separate would force the couple to confront their actions and admit that perhaps Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown were right all along.
We can’t imagine Kody and Robyn willingly admitting they don’t have the secret to a long, happy marriage. The couple will limp along, even if unhappy, until well after the series ends. If Kody and Robyn Brown divorce, it likely won’t be until their youngest child is ready to head off to college. Still, that is many years down the line.
Christine and Janelle both think the marriage is built to last
Over the years, Sister Wives fans have only seen carefully curated snippets of the Brown family’s life. Even those snippets suggest Kody prefers Robyn to pretty much anyone else he’s ever met. His former wives have gotten a front-row seat, and at least two of them think Robyn and Kody’s marriage is built to last.
In an interview with E! News, Christine and Janelle both theorized that Kody and Robyn were well-suited to each other. Christine called Kody’s fourth wife his “soulmate” and his true love. She suggested the “honeymoon phase” for the pair hasn’t ended, even a decade into their plural marriage. Meri has been less specific, but she seems to think Kody used Robyn to “escape” his other wives. If three women who lived with the couple think things will work out for them, who are we to say otherwise?
Fans can watch Robyn and Kody Brown figure out their marriage and contemplate divorce in season 19 of Sister Wives. The season premieres on Sept. 18.
