‘Sister Wives’: Christine Brown Questions Robyn Brown’s Covid Rules, ‘What Does the Nanny Do?’
The fifth episode of season 16 of Sister Wives on Dec. 19 brought more drama and more big reveals. Fans were stymied to learn that Kody Brown and his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, have a nanny. Viewers might be curious why the couple, neither of whom work outside the home, need a nanny, but Christine Brown, Kody’s former wife, just wants to know what the nanny is doing to be allowed in the house. No one is entirely sure.
Robyn Brown and Kody Brown instated a series of strict coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions on their family
The Brown family spent most of 2020 not interacting with each other, as per Kody and Robyn’s strict requirements. Shortly after the coronavirus pandemic made its way to the United States, Kody and Robyn began enforcing strict restrictions. The family locked down, refusing to see anyone who was traveling or working.
Kody opted not to attend Ysabel Brown’s surgery in New Jersey and chastised Janelle Brown for allowing two of their sons to work and interact with friends. Kody and Robyn even refused to let Meri, who had been quarantined alone for several weeks, visit their home.
According to the most recent episode, the restrictions didn’t extend to the family’s nanny, though. The nanny, who came into the home to help with Kody and Robyn’s two youngest children, was a shock to fans. Christine, however, just wants to know what makes the nanny so special.
Christine Brown questions what the nanny does that makes her special
Meri, Janelle, and Christine mostly accepted Robyn and Kody’s strict coronavirus guidelines. At the very least, they were willing just to let it go. Once Christine found out a nanny was regularly entering the home, all bets were off. The mother of six noted that her children were hurt that they were not allowed to see their siblings and questioned what made the nanny so special.
Christine noted that she is as safe as possible about the pandemic in an interview scene. She said she did not understand why the nanny and her husband were allowed in Robyn’s home, but the rest of the Brown family was not. While Christine didn’t come out and say it, most viewers seem to agree that Robyn and Kody likely don’t want the rest of the Browns around any longer.
Christine Brown left Kody Brown ahead of the season premiere, but not before season 16 of ‘Sister Wives’ was filmed
The battle over the nanny is pointless now. Christine Brown left her husband, Kody Brown, in November 2021, ending months of speculation about their relationship. The announcement came just weeks before TLC released the sixteenth season of the famed reality TV show. TLC filmed the season before Christine moved out of Arizona and headed for a new life in Utah.
Season 16 of Sister Wives was filmed in 2020, during the earlier days of the coronavirus pandemic. Christine may have been living in Arizona, but she was clearly on her way out. Based on the footage being aired now, she was certainly over the family’s dysfunctional dynamic, at the very least.
