‘Sister Wives’: Christine Brown’s Tell-All Book Set to Expose Polygamy—What Will She Reveal About Kody Brown?
For years, Sister Wives fans have speculated which wife would be the first to write a book about polygamy and Kody Brown. Many expected Meri Brown to take the lead, but Christine Brown has come out swinging first. Details of Christine’s book hint at an unfiltered memoir, suggesting she isn’t holding back. What shocking details will she expose about her ex-husband, Kody Brown?
‘Sister Wife: A Memoir of Faith, Family, and Finding Freedom’ tells Christine Brown’s story
Christine Brown [Woolley] will publish a book, Sister Wife: A Memoir of Faith, Family, and Finding Freedom. It promises to expose polygamy and Christine’s experience as a lifelong member of the Mormon religious offshoot, AUB (Apostolic United Brethren).
The book’s description reads: “Christine Brown Woolley had always dreamed of having a picture-perfect family—beautiful children, an adoring husband, and of course, a sisterhood of wives to share him with. Raised in Utah by practicing polygamists, Christine knew her life was less than normal, but that didn’t stop her from loving the full house of her childhood any less.”
It continues, “Becoming Kody Brown’s third wife in 1994, Christine finally found the big, happy family she had hoped for. When TLC’s hit show Sister Wives premiered in 2010, Christine knew it was her chance to shine a light on the brighter side of polygamy—the helping hands, the lively discussions, and their unmatched devotion to each other. But the cameras also revealed a much darker truth.”
“Now, in this candid tell-all, Christine shares for the first time the journey that led her away from the Morman church and the bold path she is carving to live apart from all she has ever known. Moving, genuine, and insightful, this is a uniquely powerful tour de force of Christine’s journey toward and beyond her time in the spotlight as a sister wife,” concludes the description.
How much ‘Sister Wives’ tea will Christine spill?
In November 2021, Christine Brown was the first of Kody Brown’s wives to leave him. She’s subsequently been disengaged from polygamy for several years.
She announced her split from Kody on Instagram. “After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” she wrote.
Christine was Kody’s third wife after Meri and Janelle Brown. They married in 1994 and have six children together. She has since moved on with David Woolley; they married in November 2023.
Of all the wives, Christine has completely separated herself from the AUB’s teachings as well as Meri, Robyn, and Kody Brown. She remains close to Janelle and her children.
Christine has always been open about her frustrations with polygamy. Therefore, it makes sense that she will spill the tea on many of the longstanding speculations about the Brown family.
Some of the hot-button topics most viewers want Christine to address include the real reason the family fled Lehi, why they left Las Vegas, Kody’s favoritism of Robyn, and her issues with Meri. Christine could also take a completely different direction and use the book to speak solely about why she left her faith.
However, in her book, Christine may not be able to share as many details as fans would like. She and Kody are in a custody battle over their youngest daughter, Truely. Christine thus may be prohibited from sharing some details of their marriage.
Fans weigh in on Christine Brown’s book
On Reddit, Sister Wives viewers weighed in on the news of Christine Brown’s book. Viewers hope for a more unfiltered version of the Brown family than seen on TLC’s Sister Wives.
One fan wrote, “I want each of the OG3 to write a tell-all so I can compare/contrast.” A second exclaimed, “Kody will absolutely lose his s***. He will have zero control over what she says.”
A third Redditor penned, “Christine will be able to write honestly about her life before the show. But I’m curious if TLC has stifled what she’s allowed to write about once they were cast members. Especially if it contradicts the narrative the show presented.”
On Sept. 16, 2025, Christine Brown’s book is released. Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
