‘Sister Wives’: Janelle Brown Admits to Hating Christine Brown at First
Season 16 of Sister Wives is wrapping up with three tell-all episodes. The first two installments have brought a couple of big revelations. In the first part, Meri Brown revealed that she and her husband, Kody Brown, have not been intimate in more than a decade. In part 2, which aired on February 6, Janelle Brown revealed that she “hated” Christine Brown when she first joined the family. She thought of Christine as “a princess.”
Janelle Brown and Christine Brown have been accused of forming a clique by Kody Brown
Janelle and Christine have a close relationship now. The duo has even been accused of forming their own clique by Kody in recent years. More specifically, Kody suggested that Christine, Janelle, and their children have created their own clique and left Robyn Brown and her five children out. The accusation came after Janelle and Christine considered prioritizing each other over Kody and Robyn during Thanksgiving 2020.
While the duo did consider spending Thanksgiving together, that had little to do with cliquishness and more to do with how close Janelle’s children are to Christine. In season 16, Janelle’s youngest son, Gabriel Brown, revealed that Christine was his primary caregiver. Janelle has made it clear that her children have a special connection to Christine because she largely raised them while Janelle was at work.
Christine has also praised Janelle, stating that she’s “easy to get along with.” She went out of her way to say that she adores Janelle’s children and enjoys the relationship they’ve forged. That’s not the way it always was, though.
‘Sister Wives’ star, Janelle Brown, reveals that she didn’t get along with Christine Brown at first
Janelle and Christine may have figured out their relationship now, but they weren’t always close. In the second installment of TLC’s tell-all episode, Janelle revealed that she “hated” Christine when she first joined the family. The revelation shocked fans.
Janelle, who married Kody in 1993, was fairly fresh to the family when Christine and Kody got together in 1994. Janelle said she thought of Christine as a “princess” at first and said she didn’t initially like her. When pressed by tell-all host, Sukanya Krishnan, Janelle refused to explain why she felt that way. The family has openly discussed the growing pains during their earlier relationship in their memoir, Becoming Sister Wives. Still, it’s the first time Janelle has openly admitted anything but admiration for Christine.
Janelle Brown and Meri Brown have never had a good relationship
While Christine and Janelle eventually forged a close relationship, the same is not true for Janelle and Meri Brown, Kody’s first wife. Janelle and Meri have both admitted to disliking each other during different times in their plural marriage. In fact, the duo once claimed they couldn’t even drive together in a car.
Janelle and Meri were family before Janelle spiritually married Kody. Janelle was previously married to Meri’s brother, Adam Barber. While they’ve never said so, Sister Wives fans believe some awkwardness and hard feelings may have carried over. Meri is now mostly estranged from the Brown family. She and Kody have not had a romantic relationship for more than a decade. Meri doesn’t appear to connect with her sister wives all that often, either.
