Sister Wives star Kody Brown has become increasingly paranoid about his family’s true feelings. He referenced how he can no longer trust them and will not divulge information about any family information, even to his ex-wives. Here’s why a man who once proclaimed such love for his extended polygamist clan is now in fear of how they may react.

‘Sister Wives’ Kody Brown’s paranoia over ‘trash-talking’

During Sister Wives season 19, Kody Brown has spoken of not trusting Janelle or her children. He admitted during a confessional that he doesn’t want any news to go through the Brown family grapevine and get twisted.

He calls this type of interaction “trash-talking” against him. Kody mistrusts everyone in his family except his legal wife, Robyn Brown, and their five children.

Christine and Janelle are not letting themselves get pulled into Kody’s ongoing victim narrative. “I think he’s trying to find fault because he’s not liking things happening in his life,” Christine told E! News. “So he’s trying to find fault with other people.”

He once accused Christine of “feeding the flames,” adding, “Christine forced herself into my life. She insisted that we be married. I don’t care that she’s leaving. It hurt initially, but I’m fine. She should stop trash-talking me to my children.”

Kody’s allowed his actions to split the once close Brown family, say viewers

Sister Wives fans addressed Kody Brown’s alleged paranoia in a Reddit thread. Their observations discuss Kody’s relationship with Robyn‘s family and her overall influence over him.

“I’ve wondered for a while now why Kody is so insistent on the fact that the OG3 is trash-talking him to their kids. It occurs to me that he spends most of his time around Robyn and her kids, and he probably thinks it’s normal for mothers to do this to their kids because Robyn does it around him all the time,” wrote one viewer. “I’m sure being around and hearing Robyn in the background telling her kids how to feel about everyone in the family has convinced him that the other moms do the same.”

A second fan wrote, “The reason he puts so much blame on the moms for poisoning his kids is because the last time he was present somewhat with the others was when they were still living with their moms. What goes on in his own home is the old kids still live at home/visit home 24/7, the kids get babied and are taught to be victims of the family, and he and Robyn openly s***-talk the other parents. So, consciously or subconsciously, he assumes that’s how the other families operate too.”

Lastly, a third viewer penned, “Projection. It’s what he has always done. Gossip. Janelle spilled the tea last week. And the things he shared with Robyn about the OG3 had her make him promise never to hold her in a loveless marriage before she would agree to marry him. Plus, they were all so modest. How else would she have known about their stretch marks or them ‘rejecting’ his affection?”
