Typically, Kody Brown has a scowl on his face. He hasn’t appeared happy in any of his confessionals or interactions with his wives since before the coronavirus (COVID) pandemic.

So when the show finally touched on the topic, his wives all had something to say. Surprisingly, Kody weighed in as well.

Janelle Brown, Kody’s second wife from whom he is separated, called her ex “intense. Even when he’s just talking seriously, he tends to have this face.”

But Kody Brown disagreed with his wives’ assessment. “I’m angry,” he said during his confessional. “It’s not that I’m grumpy or yelling or doing something. It’s that I have rest a****** face.”

“I’ve been wearing my pain on my sleeve for two to three years. I am tired of the pain,” he confessed. “Maybe it’s a good idea just to lighten up.”

Sister Wives fans reacted to Kody Brown’s long-discussed negativity over the past several seasons. For viewers, it’s been years since Kody hasn’t appeared angry.

Perhaps producers thought it was time to address the topic after Kody yet again, talked about how hurt he was over his three divorces. He also said in the same segment that he never loved the women he fathered a total of 13 children with before marrying Robyn Brown.

In the same episode, Meri Brown finally admitted that divorcing Kody Brown changed the family dynamic. After years of rumors surrounding a power shift in the family, the elephant in the room was finally addressed.

Meri discussed how, in Sept. 2014, she officially divorced Kody so he could legally marry Robyn and adopt her children. She explained how the family dynamic shifted after that event.

Kody’s first wife validated her former sister wife Janelle’s concerns about the legal divorce. She expressed concerns about the possibility of changes in the family once Kody and Robyn married legally. He assured her that would not happen.

In the same episode, Janelle revealed that in their faith, the first wife decided how things would be split after the death of the husband. She “knew Meri would be fair.”
