‘Sister Wives’: Kody Brown, Robyn Brown Use One Another as Shields to Deflect From Their Bad Behavior
Kody Brown and Robyn Brown of TLC’s Sister Wives have been called out by fans for years for what appeared to be bad behavior toward the other women in the Brown family. However, they’ve found another way to get around their misdeeds, by using one another as shields to deflect from how they treat others.
‘Sister Wives’ Kody and Robyn Brown deflect their bad behavior onto each other
Throughout TLC’s Sister Wives, Kody and Robyn Brown have deflected their bad behavior onto Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown. Together, they found ways to make their mishaps someone else’s fault.
For example, Kody blamed Meri for undertaking a romantic online relationship. But, he didn’t spend any time with her and she was lonely.
Robyn made Meri feel like she was abandoning the family when she expressed her issues with how Kody treated her. Instead, she should have encouraged Meri to be happy.
Robyn said it was Christine’s fault that Kody was unhappy. Kody also blamed Christine for breaking up their family, when he did that years earlier to spend all of his time with Robyn.
Kody told Janelle she should be “fundamentally loyal” like Robyn and then, he would spend more time with her. Still, Robyn is made out by Kody to be an “innocent saint” a term Janelle finds laughable.
In recent episodes, Kody has shifted his blame toward Robyn, saying she was the reason he couldn’t get together with his children. She blamed Kody for his change in attitude toward her and their marriage since all his other wives left their family.
Fans weigh in on Kody and Robyn Brown’s bad behavior
In a Reddit post, fans weighed in on Kody and Robyn Brown’s bad behavior. They believe the couple use one another, and that they don’t have a real, loving relationship.
“Kody uses Robyn as a shield to avoid accountability for his part in the demise of his polygamous family. Robyn, in turn, uses her kids as shields to avoid facing the uncomfortable truth about why the OG 3 wives and most of their children don’t care for her. Robyn’s kids are too naive and programmed to see the full truth about the family their mother married into,” wrote one follower.
A second penned, “I can’t imagine how he can say there is the MAJORITY of the family that doesn’t like Robyn and then assume it’s not Robyn’s fault. He is so freaking delusional.”
“Kody and Robyn are fully choosing to isolate themselves and play the victim. Which is funny cause you see everyone else moving on and they still are in that blame spiral,” claimed a third Redditor.
A fourth viewer wrote, “Robyn said a person told her everyone hated her it was Kody. He always stoked fighting between his wives.”
Will Kody and Robyn Brown’s relationship last?
For now, Kody and Robyn Brown’s relationship appears to be solid. They recently purchased a $2M home in Flagstaff together.
However, there are cracks in the foundation of their relationship. These are apparent when Kody continues to shift blame onto Robyn, and she calls herself the Brown family scapegoat.
But will Robyn leave Kody like her former sister wives? That’s unlikely.
Robyn appears to have grown accustomed to a particular lifestyle that Kody provides. Their purchase of a multimillion-dollar home cements that.
Kody, in turn, likes that Robyn appears to make him the center of her world. It’s a transactional relationship that appears to work for them.
The couple lives in Flagstaff. Meri and Christine Brown live in Utah while Janelle Brown divides her time between Flagstaff and North Carolina.
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
