Sister Wives is in its 16th season, but things are not looking great for the family patriarch. While the Brown family is already used to criticism due to their lifestyle, Kody Brown is finding himself at the center of it all in recent times due to his remarks and behavior. His recent statements about being marginalized are not sitting well with fans either.

Kody feels marginalized

TLC has never shied away from capturing the intense moments in their shows, and a recent episode of Sister Wives confirms this to be true. In the last episode, Kody and his wife Janelle met in a socially distanced visit to talk about the way forward regarding entering Janelle’s home.

However, Kody felt like Janelle wasn’t putting his needs into consideration. The 52-year-old insists on the entire family observing strict social distancing guidelines to make the home a safe space for his visits to his family. He asserted that he wouldn’t negotiate with his and Janelle’s children on abiding by coronavirus (COVID-19) rules, giving them an ultimatum.

As People reports, Kody feels marginalized in his plural marriage. While speaking to Janelle, Kody admitted that he and Christine have a “crappy relationship” because of her independent “you do you, I’m going to do me” attitude.

He, however, feels concerned with his relationship with Janelle as they don’t have a bad relationship, but he is “still being marginalized.” It is also noteworthy that Christine announced that she had left Kody in November.

Kody also mentioned in a confessional that he feels “stonewalled” by Janelle. He said, “I’m not making any progress. She misses me, so she wants me to compromise so that I can come home rather than her making everybody in the household obey the protocols.”

Kody’s comments have ruffled some feathers with fans

Kody’s remarks about being marginalized in his plural marriage haven’t sat well with many of the show’s fans. One Twitter user called Kody out for the comment saying, Kody put himself in the situation and that his wives and viewers will be able to see that for himself.

Other fans applauded Janelle for putting Kody in his place. Some fans speculated that Janelle would follow Christine’s lead and exit the marriage.

Where does the Brown family currently stand?

When season 15 of Sister Wives came to a close, Kody’s wives seemed unhappy with their living situations. However, none was as vocal about the entire thing as Christine Brown. Christine made it known that she was more interested in moving states again, with the new season proving that her feelings didn’t change.

‘Sister Wives’: Christine Brown Hinted That Robyn Brown Was an Issue Back in Season 4

While Christine shared that she didn’t want to make Arizona her home, she wasn’t shy about talking about the real issue. Christine pointed out that she never wanted to move onto the family land called the Coyote Pass due to jealousy and unresolved feelings between herself and the other wives.

The move to Flagstaff was a disaster waiting to happen, but something positive came out of it. The family’s followers noticed that Christine flourished when she wasn’t close to her sister wives. She also seemed to enjoy operating as an independent entity, with fans theorizing that the distance helped her realize the need for freedom and independence.

Christine also wanted to be reunited with her children, as many had already moved out and resettled in Utah. She thought that since plural marriage was legalized, it finally meant that she was safe to go back to Utah and hoped that the rest of the family would back her up.

The realization that they weren’t going to crushed Christine’s heart, leading her to break down. The new season is only a few episodes in, but as it stands, there is still some uncertainty about what is to become of the Coyote Pass situation.
