Sister Wives star Kody Brown always favored Robyn Brown over his other three wives, Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown. His actions were evident as he spent all of his time with her and her children, versus his three other wives and their combined 13 offspring. However, the biggest inequity was how he unfairly divided the family’s funds to benefit Robyn above all others.

Robyn Brown said ‘quality of living’ was more important than money

Robyn Brown shockingly revealed her views on money in a confessional for an early season of Sister Wives. In a Reddit post, a viewer uploaded a telling clip filmed just ahead of the family’s Flagstaff, Arizona move.

Robyn said in Season 13, episode 6 of the series that money should be used as a tool for a better quality of life. She explained, “Kody and I are different in the way we look at money. He talks a lot about saving money and not spending money. I think saving is good.”

She carefully added the following comment. “But I also think that quality of living is important. If Flagstaff could improve our quality of living then it would be worth the money to me.”

Subsequently, Robyn Brown always benefitted from the shared family bank account. She and Kody dipped into it regularly for their own personal use it appeared, while Kody’s other wives struggled to make it on their own.

This was evident when the couple purchased expensive jewelry, art, and other objects on display in their massive Flagstaff, AZ home, while Janelle lived in a rental apartment and their Coyote Pass property went unpaid for years. Thus they could never build homes on the property unless it was paid off.

In the comments section of the Reddit post, fans sounded off on Robyn Brown’s conniving opinion on money. They believe that Robyn’s nonchalant beliefs have rubbed off on Kody.

“Improve their quality of living? They each lived in massive homes in Vegas! What was to improve?” wrote one follower.

“They should have been talking about earning money. She would view spending differently if she had to actually earn it,” shared a second viewer.

“Kody was already pretty reckless with money before Robyn joined the family. They talked about how Janelle and Christine had a strict budget for necessities but didn’t have money for extras (like braces were an example of extras) and if kids needed stuff they had to wait,” a third Sister Wives fan explained.

A fourth fan had this point of view. “This is a grown woman literally saying that having what you want (quality of living lmao) is more important than saving money. No forethought for retirement or emergencies or paying for her kids’ education and weddings. And they were making good money at this point. They could have saved and still had a great quality of life.”

Gwendlyn Brown revealed in a YouTube video that Robyn and Kody Brown have “terrible” spending habits. She shared her thoughts regarding the Brown family’s financial situation

“I think that my dad and Robyn have a terrible habit of spending very crazy and, like, not within their means at all,” Gwendlyn said in a YouTube video on Friday, March 31, 2024. “But also Janelle Brown and Meri Brown are kind of similar to my mom [Christine Brown] and that they’re not gonna be salty or petty and try to take money from him even though they totally deserve it because he’s been spending all of their money on whatever.”

Fans have noted in several newer episodes of the series that Kody and Robyn‘s house is filled with knickknacks, statues, art, and other assorted items that clutter up every inch of available space.

Sister Wives is currently on hiatus. Season 19 of the series returns to TLC in late summer.
