‘Sister Wives’: Meri Brown Buys Herself Valentine’s Day Flowers — ‘Sometimes You Just Gotta Bring You Own Sunshine’
Sister Wives star Kody Brown’s first wife, Meri Brown, reveals that she bought herself flowers for Valentine’s Day. She tells her Instagram followers, “Sometimes you just gotta bring your own sunshine.”
Meri and Kody’s estranged marriage
As discussed in part one of the Sister Wives Season 16 tell-all, Kody and Meri’s marriage is nothing more than a friendship. However, Meri holds out hope that there is potential for getting back to a “full marriage.” However, Kody is adamant that it’s not a possibility.
Kody said that there is “no chance” that he would choose to get back into a marriage with Meri the way it was before. He said, “There’s a double standard. They can leave whenever they want. I can’t.” When the host suggested he had emotionally “abandoned” Meri, Kody got upset, saying he took “offense” to the word. Meri later revealed that she and Kody haven’t been intimate in over a decade.
Meri buys herself flowers for Valentine’s Day
On Feb. 12, Meri posted a video of herself giving herself flowers for Valentine’s Day. In the video, she mouths the words, “Oh my gosh, someone sent me flowers! I wonder who it could be? Me!” Check out the Instagram post below:
Meri captioned the video, “Sometimes you just gotta bring your own sunshine! Happy Valentine’s Day!” Many of her fans had told her that she deserves better than a platonic marriage with Kody.
Why Meri and Kody aren’t romantic anymore
Many of the problems between Meri and Kody began after Kody legally divorced Meri to marry his fourth wife, Robyn Brown legally. While they were having issues in their marriage before, this caused Meri to feel worse about her position as his first wife.
Kody and Meri’s marriage began to become distant. During this time, Meri started an online relationship with who she thought was a handsome, 40-something-year-old businessman who went by the name of Sam Cooper. After an emotional affair, Meri found out that she had been catfished by a woman, pretending to be Sam.
While this was a huge portion of how Meri and Kody’s marriage began to deteriorate, this wasn’t the cause of the marriage breaking down. While Kody eluded to there being something larger than the catfishing affair, he didn’t explain what it was.
It appears that Kody and Meri are still in a platonic marriage. At least Meri got herself some flowers for Valentine’s Day. Part 3 of Sister Wives tell-all airs Sunday, Feb. 20 on TLC and discovery+.
