‘Sister Wives’: Robyn Admits to There Being Competition Between the Wives
On the Dec 19 episode of Sister Wives, Kody Brown’s fourth wife, Robyn Brown, admits that there is ‘competition’ between her and her sister wives. She said that it can carry over to their children as well.
Christine’s daughter Ysabel gets home from having major surgery
Before Ysabel went to New Jersey for her back surgery, Christine revealed that the procedure to straighten Ysabel’s spine could cause her to grow anywhere from two to three inches. Kody was impressed that his daughter could wind up being taller than him.
On the Dec 19 episode of Sister Wives, Ysabel’s major surgery on her spine was a success, and Christine and her family return home. It’s been weeks since Christine and Ysabel have seen the rest of the family. They give an update on how Ysabel is doing post-operation. She shows the other sister wives her the scar that the doctor made in order to operate on her. Then Christine reveals that she’s still shorter than Kody, as Ysabel only grew one inch instead of the expected two to three.
Robyn admits there is a competition between the wives
Kody asked Ysabel, “What’s your height now?” Ysabel replies that she’s 5’11”. Kody tells her, “No, ’cause you weren’t taller than me before, but now you would be.” It then cuts to Robyn in a confessional talking about the level of competitiveness within the family.
She says, “There’s this weird thing that happens. I feel like a lot of the kids are very competitive and moms are competitive. I don’t know if it’s a polygamy thing or if it’s just the sense of competition in the family that’s been fostered. I’m not really into it. Height is one of the competitive points. But there’s a million in this crazy family.”
What do fans think of Robyn’s comment?
Many Sister Wives fans thought that Robyn bringing up the competitiveness within the family was very telling of the dynamic within the Brown family, specifically between the other sister wives. One fan wrote via Reddit, “That comment Robyn made about the competition among the wives/ kids about various things with that b— face of hers was actually very revealing to me.”
The fan continued, “Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but I bet the reason that she doesn’t like the ‘competition’, is because it makes her and her kids look bad.” They concluded, “If any of this ‘competition’ made her and kids look good. I bet you anything she wouldn’t mind it as much.”
Another fan wrote, “Robyn is the worst kind of person she actually loves competition but not just against the wives but against his own children.”
Many Sister Wives fans have seen a drastic shift in the way Robyn has been speaking in season 16. It appears that she’s becoming more comfortable with taking jabs at her sister wives. New episodes of Sister Wives air Sundays on TLC and discovery+.
