‘Sister Wives’: Is Robyn Brown the Innocent Saint She and Kody Brown Project?
Sister Wives star Robyn Brown’s image has been reworked over the past several seasons to be not only demure but innocent. However, long-time viewers of the TLC series recall that Robyn wasn’t always so “shy” per a statement made by her husband, Kody Brown, during season 19. Historically, Robyn was anything but an innocent saint, as she and Kody try to change the public’s perception of his most disliked wife.
Robyn and Kody Brown are desperately trying to rework her public image
For many years, Sister Wives fans have watched as Robyn Brown’s demeanor has changed. She came in hot, gunning not only for her other sister wives but their children, beginning in season one.
Subsequently, Robyn has spoken out against the women and their children many times throughout the series’ run. In turn, Kody defended her, stating Robyn was being ganged up upon by the other women and their families.
Today, Robyn remains the most silent of all of Kody’s wives. She’s now called “shy” by Kody when she has been anything but throughout most of her TLC career.
Why the reworking of Robyn’s public image this season? Could it be due to the sensitive nature of the upcoming batch of episodes, where season 19 will include Garrison Brown’s death?
For several seasons, Robyn and Kody unfairly targeted Janelle Brown’s sons Gabriel and Garrison. After Garrison’s death, magically, Robyn and Kody were filmed as they spoke of bringing the family together and Kody said he wanted to work things out with his older children, knowing all eyes were on them in the aftermath of the family tragedy.
Robyn and Kody Brown are ‘liars’ say ‘Sister Wives’ viewers
In a Reddit post, Robyn and Kody Brown were called “liars” due to their rewriting of history by several Sister Wives viewers. Fans are tired of the couple’s manipulation of the past to suit their narrative.
“Robyn can’t fathom that the viewers have her figured out and can see what a manipulative, selfish person she is. She keeps hoping she can fool everyone, ” wrote one viewer.
“What about the way she always looks up or looks away when she talks, or I mean lies (liar!) which for her is both the same thing?” questioned a second fan. A third penned, “I think it’s more like when she gets called out on her s*** she whines to Kody about how she’s treated unfairly.”
Finally, a fourth viewer deduced of the TLC star, “It seems more like Kody’s a liar and completely rewriting history. He has a different story almost every time he opens his mouth.”
What’s next on ‘Sister Wives’?
The next episode of Sister Wives is called “A Man After My Own Heart.” This season 19 installment will prove to be quite emotional for several reasons.
Christine and David’s relationship continues at light speed when they go off-roading in Moab, Utah. After ring shopping, David gets down on one knee to ask Christine to marry him.
Ysabel Brown is in tears over fears of losing her dad. Her relationship with Kody Brown remains fragile after years of neglect.
Ysabel remains conflicted about her feelings for her father. Over the years, she has insinuated that they didn’t communicate much. In Season 17 of Sister Wives, Ysabel said she and Kody were not “close at all.”
Finally, Meri Brown asks Kody to help her move to Parowan. It remains to be seen why Meri would ask Kody for help with anything after he hung her out to dry emotionally for a decade.
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
